The Perfect Storm!By Rabbi Ken GibbsCongregationYeshuat YisraelFranklin, Tennesseewww.yeshuatyisrael.com

Shalom,The recent hurricane events have compelled me to prepare thisstudy to show the relationship that we have with the God of Israeland the Jewish People. Some will say that God is through with the Jews and the modernState of Israel is no different than any other nation. I believe that“Those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who curseIsrael will be cursed!” a promise given by the Almighty PromiseKeeper. The United States has been blessed by supporting Israel. AfterWorld War II, Israel was founded as a modern nation and theUnited States was the first to recognize this tiny struggling state. The United States has prospered greatly in the last 50 years. As a student of the Bible, I am skeptical of comparing events inthe news to Biblical Prophecy.

As a student of the Bible, I am skeptical of comparing events inthe news to Biblical Prophecy. I am not one to sensationalizeGod, because the Holy One, Blessed be He! is Sensational! Thereis no need to “magnify” the Lord, He is already magnificent.Without resorting to newspaper exegesis, I am compelled to sharethis information with you. There is a relationship with the recentnatural disasters and our treatment of Israel.I do believe that there will be no “real” peace until MessiahYeshua (Jesus) returns. God will judge mankind on theirtreatment of “the least of these My Brethren”, the Jewish people.(Matthew 24:23-40). Pro-Semitic Sheep “Gentiles” will enter theKingdom, while Anti-Semitic “Goat” Gentiles will be punished. Thisincludes dividing the land promised to the Jews!

Joel 3:1-2I will also gather all nations,And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; And I will enter into judgment with them thereOn account of My people, My heritage Israel,Whom they have scattered among the nations; They have also divided up My land.At the end of this Age, Gentile Nations will be Judged bytheir treatment of Israel! This is a biblical fact.

The United States Government has place pressure on Israel togive up land for peace. The Land of Israel was promised toAbraham, Isaac, and Jacob and their descendants. This pressurehas resulted in judgment on the United States.Recent Hurricanes and the major evacuations are a result offorcing the Jewish people out of the areas of Gush Katif. On theday that the Gaza Strip was declared 'Judenrein‘ “Jewish Free”meaning the area was now removed of the impurity. Please consider this information prayerfully and note that God isas active in the lives of the Jewish people today as he was in thedays of Moses.Ken Gibbs, Messianic RabbiCongregation Yeshuat Yisrael

Genesis 12:1 Promises to Abram12 Now the Lord had said to Abram:“Get out of your country,From your familyAnd from your father’s house,To a land that I will show you.I will make you a great nation;I will bless youAnd make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.I will bless those who bless you,And I will curse him who curses you;And in you all the families of the earthshall be blessed.”

Genesis 15:14 LAND Promise14 And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot hadseparated from him: “Lift your eyes now and lookfrom the place where you are— northward, southward, eastward, and westward; 15 for all theland which you see I give to you and yourdescendants forever. 16 And I will make yourdescendants as the dust of the earth; so that if aman could number the dust of the earth, thenyour descendants also could be numbered. 17Arise, walk in the land through its length and itswidth, for I give it to you.”

Genesis 15:14 LAND Promise14And the Lord said to Abram… “Lift your eyes now and look from theplace where you are— northward, southward, eastward, andwestward; 15 for all the land which you see I give to you and yourdescendants forever. This promise was reiterated to:To Isaac not Ishmael Genesis 24:3To Jacob not Esau Genesis 28:4

The Perfect Storm!

This information is based on a book by John McTernan and BillKoenig. These are excellent books but will need to be updated toinclude the recent events which are more convincing than theevents of the past!

What do these major record-setting events have in common?* The ten costliest insurance events in U.S. history* The Seven costliest hurricanes in U.S. history* Three of the four largest tornado outbreaks in U.S. history* The top ten natural disasters in U.S. history ranked by FEMArelief coasts.* The two largest terrorism events in U.S. history. (Sept. 11 andWaco Texas.)All of these major catastrophes transpired on the very same dayor within 24-hours of U.S. presidents Bush, Clinton and Bushapplying pressure on Israel to trade her land for promises of"peace and security," sponsoring major "land for peace" meetings, making major public statements pertaining to Israel's covenantland and/or calling for a Palestinian state.

October 30, 19911991: George Bush opens historic Mid East peaceconference US President George Bush has encouragedArabs and Israelis to "lay down the past" in his openingspeech to the Middle East peace conference in Spain. Itis the first time in 43 years that Israel has sat down withall its Arab neighbors to discuss peace."Territorial compromise is essential for peace," saidPresident Bush. "We seek peace, real peace. And by realpeace I mean treaties. If we cannot summon thecourage to lay down the past for ourselves then let usdo it for the children."

October 30, 1991The invitation, an outcome of compromises by all sides, detailed the structure of the Madrid process:•An opening conference having no power to imposesolutions•Bilateral talks with the Arab states bordering Israel•Talks with the Palestinians on 5-year interim self-rule,to be followed by talks on the permanent status•Multilateral talks on key regional issues, like refugees.

October 30, 1991

October 30, 1991As President George H. W. Bush is opening the Madrid (Spain)Conference to consider “Land for Peace” in Israel’s Middle Eastrole, the“perfect storm” develops in the North Atlantic, creating thelargest waves ever recorded in that region. The storm travels1000 miles from “east to west” instead of the normal “west to east”pattern and crashes into the New England Coast.Thirty-five foot waves crash into the Kennebunkport home ofPresident Bush.

October 30, 1991Home of President George H. W. Bush in Kenebunkport, MaineMost of the interior was rebuilt after The Perfect Storm

October 30, 1991A state by state damage summary reveals the widespread andextensive damage caused by the storm and accompanying seas.Beach erosion and coastal flooding was severe and widespread, even causing damage to lighthouses. Hundreds of homes andbusinesses were either knocked from their foundations or simplydisappeared. Sea walls, boardwalks, bulkheads, and piers werereduced to rubble over a wide area. Numerous small boats weresunk at their berths. Flooding was extensive invading homes andclosing roads and airports. Former President Bush's home inKennebunkport, ME suffered severe damage as windows wereblown out, water flooded the building, and some structuraldamage also occurred.

August 23, 1992Hurricane Andrew was one of the most destructive andexpensive hurricanes to hit the United States. It ragedfrom August 16 to August 28, 1992.This tropical cyclone affected the northwestern Bahamas, then southern Florida in the greater Miami area, doingmuch damage, crossing the Florida peninsula and theGulf of Mexico before again making landfall in southcentralLouisiana where it caused further damage.Andrew is second only to Hurricane Katrina in financialdamage.

January 16, 1994January 16, 1994: Northridge Earthquake—PresidentBill Clinton meets with Syria's President Hafez el-Assadin Geneva. They talk about a peace agreement withIsrael that includes giving up the Golan Heights. Within24 hours, a powerful 6.9 earthquake rocks SouthernCalifornia, This quake, centered in Northridge, becomesthe third most destructive natural disaster to hit theUnited States, behind Hurricane Andrew, and Katrina.

January 16, 1994Clinton's decision to meet one-on-one with Hafiz al-Asadon January 16th.That meeting is a terrible idea. It ignores the fact thatAsad responds to U.S. concessions by thumbing his nosein our face. It rewards him for sponsoring a dozenPalestinian groups trying to destroy Israel. But what to donow? After all, the Clinton-Asad meeting is already in theworks. January 16th would be a great date for PresidentClinton to come down with a sudden case of thediplomatic flu.

War of Independence 1948-49Zionist leader David Ben-Gurion'sdeclaration in Tel Aviv on May 14, 1948,that Israel was an independent statetriggered an invasion by Egypt, Syria,Transjordan, Lebanon and Iraq. Over thenext 15 months, the Israelis expanded theirholdings to northern Galilee and southernNegev. The ensuing armistice dividedJerusalem between Israel and Transjordan, but the fate of 400,000 Palestinian Arabswho fled Israel during the fighting and werein camps near the border was not resolved.Transjordan annexex the area known asthe West Bank (west bank of the JordanRiver) later changes it’s name to Jordan.

Six-Day War 1967In May 1967, Egypt closed the Gulf ofAqaba to Israeli shipping and beganmobilizing its forces to attack Israel. Syriaand Jordan also mobilized against Israel. Inresponse, Israel launched a strike. StartingJune 5, the Israeli air force destroyedEgypt's planes on the ground. Enabled byair superiority throughout the region, Israelitank columns and infantry captured theSinai Peninsula in three days. Elsewhere, the Israelis overran the Golan Heights, theWest Bank of the Jordan River, includingthe Old City of Jerusalem (which Israel laterannexed), and Gaza. The war was over byJune 10, ended by a U.N.-arranged ceasefire.

DISPUTED TERRITORYBefore the Six Day War, the Gaza Strip wasunder Egyptian rule, and Judea & Samaria(the West Bank) were under Jordanian Rule. The Palestinians never had an autonomy inthese areas (or in any other area, for thatmatter). They didn’t start an uprising againstEgypt or Jordan.

Gulf Coast, USAAug 29, 2005 — As Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleanson Monday, it has turned one of America's most charmingcities into a vast cesspool tainted with toxic chemicals, human waste and even coffins released by floodwatersfrom the city's legendary cemeteries. The above-groundtombs of New Orleans, the origin of the nickname "City ofthe Dead" have an interesting history. Early settlers inthe area struggled with different methods to bury thedead who never seemed to want to stay below theground. The city's high water table means that holesmore than a few feet deep fill with water - causing anairtight casket to literally float and eventually push itsway back out of the ground.

Gush Katif, IsraelThe bodies of the dead were dug up, against Jewish Law, andreburied outside of Gush Katif .The Jews were FORCED to remove the dead from their cemeteriesbecause the Palestinians did not even want dead Jews in the Gaza Strip.Jewish Biblical Law prevents the disturbance of a grave. Regardless, pressure from the United States resulted in violation of this Biblical Law.Imagine digging up your relatives that have been dead for the past 50years? This is an outrage!

The Messiah Yeshuacan calm thePerfect Storm

The Perfect StormMark 4:3535On the same day, when evening had come, He said tothem, “Let us cross over to the other side.” 36 Now whenthey had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boatas He was. And other little boats were also with Him. 37 Anda great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat,so that it was already filling. 38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him,“Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”39Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea,“Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a greatcalm. 40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? Howis it that you have no faith?” 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even thewind and the sea obey Him!”
