Helping Friends Program at school <strong>and</strong> is still currently a ëHelping Friendsí<br />
Rebecca has a p representative.<br />
Rebecca has a passion to save animals <strong>and</strong> works tirelessly for the ëAnimals<br />
Unleashed Programí where she advocates strongly against animal abuse.<br />
In addition, Rebecca is a volunteer for the Red Cross, collecting donations; <strong>and</strong><br />
also assists in fundraising for the Manly Junior Rugby League <strong>club</strong> to raise<br />
money for <strong>club</strong> equipment.<br />
Rebecca is a quiet achiever who takes pride in her work <strong>and</strong> deserves to be<br />
acknowledged <strong>and</strong> recognised for her selfless contributions to the school <strong>and</strong><br />
the wider community.<br />
Murray Manning - Balmoral State High School<br />
Murray arrived at Balmoral State High School in<br />
2006 <strong>and</strong> over the last five years has maintained<br />
exemplary st<strong>and</strong>ards <strong>of</strong> attendance, personal<br />
presentation <strong>and</strong> conduct.<br />
He is a diligent student who is motivated <strong>and</strong><br />
committed to his studies. Over the years Murray<br />
has developed outst<strong>and</strong>ing leadership skills which<br />
have been recognised by his appointment as<br />
Head <strong>of</strong> House for Apollo in <strong>2010</strong>. He is an<br />
excellent ambassador representing his House <strong>and</strong><br />
the school, <strong>and</strong> is contributing significantly to the<br />
development <strong>of</strong> a positive student culture <strong>and</strong> community image. Murray is<br />
giving outst<strong>and</strong>ing service as co-editor <strong>of</strong> the Annual School Magazine, giving<br />
freely <strong>of</strong> his time <strong>and</strong> technological expertise.<br />
Murray is a keen advocate for a better environment, is active member <strong>of</strong><br />
Balmoral Highís Environment Committee which hopes to exp<strong>and</strong> its recycling<br />
program. He is also an Australian Youth Climate Coalition representative.<br />
Murray has demonstrated significant initiative <strong>and</strong> an ability to work<br />
independently as a member <strong>of</strong> the Balmoral State High Schoolís Boeing<br />
Enterprise Team for the past five years. This ëcross-ageí team is a designated<br />
class in the schoolís curriculum where students are given the opportunity to work<br />
on completing various projects for Boeing defence Australia. This industry link<br />
developed out <strong>of</strong> the schoolís alliance with the Gateway Aerospace Schools<br />
Project. As a member <strong>of</strong> this team, Murray has<br />
developed a number <strong>of</strong> essential ëemployabilityí<br />
skills which are transferable to the workforce.<br />
Kristy Palmer - Lourdes Hill College<br />
Kristy is a quiet achiever. She is Academic<br />
Leader <strong>of</strong> McKee House, <strong>and</strong> has received an<br />
Academic Award every semester since<br />
beginning at the College in Year 8. This is a<br />
difficult award to achieve in any year level, <strong>and</strong>
