<strong>and</strong> Cricket Captain for <strong>2010</strong>. He is currently playing with the first fifteen Rugby<br />

team, <strong>and</strong> hopes to be selected for the first eleven Soccer team again this year.<br />

A talented musician, Timothy was selected Music Captain for <strong>2010</strong>. He plays<br />

cello in two College ensembles, sings in the College choir <strong>and</strong> Senior Vocal<br />

Group, <strong>and</strong> plays bass in the College Jazz Big B<strong>and</strong>.<br />

Within the College community he participates in the social justice committee <strong>and</strong><br />

the Boys Education Advisory Committee. His time management, self- discipline<br />

<strong>and</strong> ability to stay focused on the task at h<strong>and</strong> are the keys to his success, <strong>and</strong><br />

he is an outst<strong>and</strong>ing ambassador for his school.<br />

Nathan Jackson ñ Moreton Bay Boys College<br />

Nathan joined Moreton Bay Boys College at the<br />

start <strong>of</strong> Year 11 in 2009, <strong>and</strong> made an<br />

immediate impression on the college community<br />

with his commitment to study, strong sense <strong>of</strong><br />

social justice <strong>and</strong> empathy to fellow students,<br />

also <strong>of</strong>fering <strong>of</strong>fered his expertise in all things<br />

Apple <strong>and</strong> Macñrelated to - students <strong>and</strong> staff<br />

alike. As well, Nathan undertook the Silver Duke<br />

<strong>of</strong> Edinburgh award, including two adventurous<br />

journeys <strong>and</strong> 12 months <strong>of</strong> community service.<br />

This year, Nathan became College Vice-Captain, working positively <strong>and</strong><br />

cooperatively with staff, <strong>and</strong> students <strong>of</strong> all ages. He was one <strong>of</strong> four boys to<br />

attend the World Individual Debating <strong>and</strong> Public Speaking Championships in<br />

Lithuania. This is an annual international English speaking tournament for high<br />

school level students representing different countries. At this event he was a<br />

wonderful ambassador, both for his school <strong>and</strong> Australia.<br />

This young man is intelligent, sociable <strong>and</strong> articulate, with a drive <strong>and</strong><br />

enthusiasm to succeed. Nathanís strength <strong>of</strong> character is reflected in the mature<br />

relationships that he has developed with his peers <strong>and</strong> as a result <strong>of</strong> a number <strong>of</strong><br />

personal challenges this past year, including the death <strong>of</strong> his father. He has<br />

been a great support to his mother <strong>and</strong> younger sister through this difficult time.<br />

Nathan is planning a trip to Canada to celebrate the end <strong>of</strong> year 12, before<br />

pursuing his chosen study path.<br />

Rebecca LíBarrow - Brisbane Bayside State College.<br />

Rebecca was nominated for this award for her worthy<br />

contribution to the school <strong>and</strong> wider community. She<br />

cooperates with others in achieving scholastic & school<br />

community objectives, has positive life attitudes, &<br />

enjoys good relationships with staff & fellow students.<br />

Rebecca is an excellent student who has participated<br />

in many extra curricular activities with the school<br />

community including the school musical, the Spring<br />

Parade <strong>and</strong> the RNA Eisteddfod.<br />

She is an excellent role model <strong>and</strong> willingly helps
