Considering that significant proportions of respondents have experienced problems<br />

linked to the definition of safety components, subsystems and infrastructure and that<br />

the majority of respondents would welcome the introduction of a non-exhaustive list<br />

of safety components in the Directive, these issues are further examined in Section 5<br />

of this report.<br />

Conformity <strong>Assessment</strong> Modules<br />

As shown in Table 4.7, the majority (11 of 20) of national authorities and of notified<br />

bodies (3 of 5) believe that there could be particular benefits from introducing a<br />

specific conformity assessment module for subsystems.<br />
