Weekly News
Run/Walk 4 Bibles
Thank you for all your efforts in raising funds for this
worthy cause. So far a total of $688.00 has been raised.
Please return any outstanding forms and money
collected to the Office ASAP so we can finalise and
send off the funds raised. Please return all forms to the
Office whether sponsors were collected or not.
Orientation Day
We will have our 2012 Orientation Day on Tuesday
December 6 th this year. Grade 6 students will also be
involved in transition/orientation activities around this
time.
Loud Shirt Day
We had a colourful day at School last Friday as many
of us came to school wearing a ‘loud’ shirt. Thank you
for making the effort to dress up and raise funds for
children suffering from hearing impairments.
students involved have made tremendous progress and
have put together some amazing routines! Well done!
We will hopefully see some of their skills at our
Family ight on Thursday December 8th.
Enrichment Activities
This week will be the last week for enrichment
activities. Students are enjoying the activities and are
producing some great work. Thanks to our parents,
grandparents and staff for providing these fun
activities.
Cluster Activity Day
On Monday ovember 14 th we will be travelling to
Eagle Point P.S. to participate in a day of activities
with our Cluster friends. Students will be divided into
class groups for activities organised by teachers from
each of the Cluster Schools.
Loud Shirt Day
Jump Rope Team
Congratulations to our very own Jump Rope
Demonstration team after presenting a very successful
skipping demonstration for Children’s Week in the
Nicholson Place Mall last week.
Today they are off to Melbourne to compete in a
statewide Skipping competition. A big thank you to
Mrs Boonstra for coaching the team each week. The
Sean Smith Concert
We all enjoyed a lively and entertaining time with Sean
Smith as he sang and taught us some new songs and
actions on Monday afternoon. We jumped, danced,
clapped and sang great new worship and fun songs.
2012 Enrolments
If you have any outstanding enrolment forms for 2012
please send them in as soon as possible so we can plan
for next year more accurately.

Over the past few months we have worked on our
Strategic Plan for the next 5 years. This has now been
finalised and printed copies will soon be available to
members and any interested families.

Scholastic and Koorong Bookclubs due Friday
ovember 18th.
Sean Smith Concert
Life Education
Next Friday, ovember 11th, the Life Education Van
will be visiting the School to conduct information
sessions for our students in the areas of health and
wellbeing. Prep to Grade 4 students will be focusing on
healthy living and emotional wellbeing and the Grade
5/6 students will be focusing on alcohol, its effects and
abuse.
A parent session has been planned for and will go for
30 minutes from 9.00 am - 9.30 am on the day of the
visit. I will attach a notice to this newsletter for you to
read. Please use the tear off response slip to let us
know if you will be attending the Parent Information
session.
I have had experience with this program before and
found it to be well presented and most beneficial,
relevant and appropriate. Please feel free to chat to me
if you have any questions.
Remembrance Day
We have poppy badges and armbands for sale in the
office to raise money to support the RSL Poppy
Appeal. Badges are $2 and $5, Armbands are $3. We
have plenty of both so please show your support for
our soldiers, both past and present.

Family Bush Dance
Parents and Friends are organising a School Family Bush Dance to be held on
Saturday ovember 12 th at the Lucknow Hall on the Omeo Highway in Lucknow.
Come along and bring your dinner at 6.00 pm then we will start dancing at 7.00 pm.
The whole evening will finish at about 9.00 pm.
We are getting a ‘band’ organised. To help defray the costs we have decided to charge
$10 per family for the night.
It has been a long time since we have had a School Bush Dance so come along and join us for a
great night of fun and fellowship.
Jump Rope Team
The Jump Rope Team did a great job performing in the
Nicholson Place Mall last Friday for Children’s Week.
Thank you to Rachael Bronstring for assisting with
transport.
Today (Thursday), some of the team are in Melbourne
participating in a state skipping competition. Please
pray for safety as we travel long distances.
Next Monday 7th ovember will be our break up.
Students in the team are invited to stay for a movie and
party to celebrate a great year. This will conclude at
6pm.

Teaching Positions
Bairnsdale Christian Community School is seeking a
fulltime upper-primary teacher and a part time primary
teacher for the commencement of Term 1 2012.
Applicants should have appropriate registration,
qualifications and an ability to integrate a Christian
worldview into every aspect of their work.
We are looking for applicants who are technologically
literate and willing to actively contribute to the vision
of BCCS.
These are ongoing positions (with a mandatory
probation period).
