Quick Mount Edge System 

Olofsfors SharqEdges is a sharp quick mount edge system for motor graders 

and snow plows. A complete toolbox of cutting edges for all road 

maintenance - winter and summer - and a way of working very efficiently. 

SharqEdges has many advantages over traditional thicker blade types for 

motor graders and plows. Instead of scraping and pushing the ice, snow or 

gravel, SharqEdges cuts, lifts and rolls the material off the road surface with 

far less downward pressure. 

By using SharqEdges you can reduce fuel consumption, grader wear, 

operator fatigue and CO 2 

pollution – and increase production efficiency 

and road safety.

Operating Technique 

The SharqEdges operating technique – “Sharqing” - is to run with a selfsharpening 

edge angle and to cut and lift instead of scrape and push. It 

takes some training to operate a grader with SharqEdges – but it’s worth it. 

Grader operators familiar with SharqEdges outperform any operator using 

traditional thicker blades and techniques. SharqEdges equipped operators 

slice with the grader, like a knife through butter, achieving results that are 

truly a cut above the rest. 

The principle of SharqEdges is the same as with a razor or with a plane – 

cut the material with a thin, hard and tough edge in a fixed sharp angle. 

With new SharqEdges on the grader, sharpen the edge in 55 degrees and 

get an edge with a knifelike sharpness. When it is sharpened - lift, tilt and 

cut with the edge. Stay there and cut easily. Take control over the edge. 

Mold it. Sharpen it. Run it. Care for it. Hear the sound. Feel it in the grader. 

See it on the material flowing on the mold board. Run easily. Feel the flow. 

And make a great result on the road. That is Sharqing with SharqEdges. 


Quick Mounting 

The SharqEdges quick mounting solution makes your operations faster and 

more flexible by minimizing the time needed to change edges. Any motor 

grader can be converted to SharqEdges. The solution is based on putting 

an adaptor plate on the grader mold board or on the plow that makes it 

possible to quick mount any SharqEdges edge on to it. By converting a 

grader or plow to SharqEdges, you gain access to a full toolbox of reversible 

edges for all conditions and seasons.

The ability to switch edges at the roadside in minimal time dramatically increases 

flexibility and productivity. The system protects the equipment from 

damage of big hits in manholes etc - the wedge bolts break before vital 

parts of the machine or plow. All thanks to the use of wedges and wedge 

bolts – an easy-to-use, very stable fastening system.

P300 – original 

The Edges P300 is a versatile universal edge that works in all conditions 

– ice, snow and gravel. It can be mounted as a front or underbody 

edge on graders, trucks and tractor plows. Thanks to its unique patented 

design, it has a wide range of capabilities. Like all other SharqEdges, the 

P300 is thin, light, hard, strong and self-sharpening. The pattern of the 

holes ensures teeth through-out the wear time. The edge retains its extreme 

penetration and strength over its entire wear life. The P300 also gives 

extreme steel usage and cost efficiency – 75% of the steel in the edge can 

be used on the grader with 100% performance all the way.

The small grooves left by the P300 hold sand and salt in place, increasing 

their effectiveness and reducing consumption. The grooves also increase the 

friction of the road surface, making it safer and less slippery.

P300 – an innovation for all seasons 

SharqEdges products

With P300 it is easy and fast to recover a straight edge after it has been 

curved by the contoured shape of the road. A 5 minute stop by the road 

side and you can start producing again with a straight edge on the mold 

board or plow. This is made possible by the mounting versatility built-into 

the P300 hole pattern. Wherever you place the P300 edge on the wedge 

bolts – vertically, horizontally or flipped around – it will fit. The SharqEdges 

bolt distance is built into to the hole pattern in the P300 edge.

P300 Rubber 

The P300 Rubber is a P300 edge vulcanized with rubber. It has all 

the advantages of the P300 Original but the holes are filled with rubber 

so that snow cannot pass through. It is a perfect choice for grading or plowing 

all type of white snow/ice packed roads when the temperature is low 

and the snow is so light that it flows through the holes in the P300 Original. 

Quieter operation is an added benefit of the P300 Rubber, making it 

the perfect choice for city streets on graders and small tractor plows. Like 

the P300 Original, the P300 Rubber is lightweight and quick-mounting. If 

you just want to have one edge for all your winter road maintenance – the 

P300 Rubber is a very good choice.

The P300 Slush edge is a two-in-one solution. It clears slush and light 

snow and can cut hard ice as well. This unique combination of sharp, hard

The OF500 thin flat edge is designed for graders and snowplows. The 

reversible design makes it very cost effective. This edge is an excellent 

choice for general grading, mixing and snow removal. The edge is made 

of high-strength through-hardened steel, which makes it sharp and longlasting. 

The special steel alloy and thin design ensure maximum strength 

while minimizing the downward pressure required for optimum penetration. 

This increases carrier efficiency, reduces operating costs and allows better 

grader control. As with all the other SharqEdges these flat edges are quick 

mounted.

A 

The OF600 thin flat edge, for use on plows, has at least 25% longer wear 

life than the OF500. Like all the other edges in the system, the OF600 is 

self-sharpening and operates with a small contact surface. This produces 

great results on roads with compacted snow and ice. The OF600 flat edge 

is ideal for high-speed truck plowing on salted highways on the front plow, 

the side wing plow or on the underbody plow.

The Olofsfors flat serrated super sharp long tooth ice edge provides 

ultimate penetration in all ice conditions. The serrated ice edge can also be 

used for loosening frozen ground or gravel. Like most other SharqEdges, 

the serrated edge is reversible, so it’s really two edges in one.

The Olofsfors curb protector has a classic Canadian design. It’s made of 

the same special alloy steel as the SharqEdges and heat-treated using the 

same process that makes them so strong and durable.

hms 300o – Stinger Board 

The HMS 3000 stinger board system operates with a minimal contact 

area, allowing very low downward pressure on the edge. The HMS 3000 

board comprises one solid piece with integrated support for maximum 

stability. The stinger bit holes are drilled with high precision to ensure the 

stingers can rotate reliably and will wear evenly throughout their lifetime. 

The HMS 3000 system protects the grader better and is far stronger than 

stinger boards with individually welded adapters for each stinger. If some 

stingers 

take a big hit – on a manhole, for instance – the wedge bolts break to protect 

the grader and the solid stinger board goes undamaged.

Olofsfors provides adapter plates to convert any motor grader to Sharq- 

Edges. Most common are 3–8-foot lengths with either 5/8-inch or 3/4- 

inch mounting holes. With an adapter plate fitted, you have full access to 

the complete system of quick-mounted edges for all road conditions and 

seasons.

Mounting instructions 

1 Remove the old cutting edge. 

2 Clean the mold board. 

3 The support washers are attached to the mounting plates with bolt 

16x37 mm (5/8” x 1½”) and ”Triloc” M16 (Lock nut 5/8”). 

4 Attach the mounting plates with bolts FH 16x65. FH 16x90 are 

needed if there is a reinforced area on the mold board. (If mother 

board holes are 3/4”, use M20 bolts and nuts.) 

5 The mounting plates are attached to the mold board with a distance 

of 6” (152.5 mm) or 12” (305 mm).

6 Before tightening the bolts for the support washers, the wedge bolts 

should be put in place (with the ”eye” horizontal). 

7 Now you can install the SharqEdges on the mounting plate. The 

blade should be attached approx. 2” below the bottom edge of 

the mounting plate. Lock with wedges. Use Safety Goggles! 

8 The grader is now ready to be used. 

9 Tighten the bolts after a couple of hours driving. 

10 To be able to use our different blade models you have to use the right 

combination of wedge and blade. 

For blades 12mm, use wedge 

20,5 (151-455980) or 18,5 (151-455950).

Bruxite Plow Wear Blades are manufactured from high-strength 

through-hardened special alloy steel, Bruxite 500, to maximize wear life. 

When it comes to wear, hardness is everything, and the Bruxite plow wear 

blades are really hard, through and through, from edge to edge. 

The Olofsfors special alloy steel and heat treatment technology are what 

make these blades so tough and give them their extreme hardness all the 

way through. The edges are fully machined and shaped prior to the hardening 

process, which is crucial to the performance of hardened steel products. 

This production method results in blades with excellent performance, 

superior to that of wear partscut from pre-hardened steel plate.

The company of Olofsfors was founded in 1762. Since its conception 249 years ago, it has 

been producing world renound high quality steel products. To this day, production is still at the 

same place located in the Northern part of Sweden. Three families have been involved since the 

begining of our dynamic company: Jennings, Pauli and Wikstrom. The proud Wikstrom family 

have been owners since 1864. From 1762 and up until the late 19th century, Olofsfors produced 

steel from its own mill. Since the late19th century Olofsfors has been focused on producing 

special and hardened steel products. This focus has produced the absolute best and highest 

quality of wear-resistant steel products in the world, resulting in Olofsfors becoming a contracted
