Bray Lake Watersports has been successfully<br />
introducing people to the exciting and dynamic<br />
world of watersports for over two decades.<br />
Recognised by the Royal Yachting Association, the<br />
British Canoe Union, and the Adventure Activities<br />
Licensing Authority for the highest safety and<br />
teaching standards, Bray Lake Watersports has<br />
something for everyone. With a School,<br />
watersports club, storage facilities, hire-demo<br />
facility, surf-shop and waterside café Bray Lake is<br />
the complete watersports centre. Situated near<br />
the River Thames close to Maidenhead in<br />
Berkshire, the picturesque lake, at just under 50<br />
acres in size, is big enough to provide a sense of<br />
escape for the confident, whilst being small<br />
enough to feel intimate and safe for the<br />

The Water World for family fun<br />
For a fun filled time for all the family you need look no further than<br />
Coral Reef. The warmth of a tropical paradise with exciting rapids and<br />
erupting geysers.<br />
Experience the thrill of three different giant water slides, including<br />
the white knuckle Boa Constrictor.<br />
In the Coral Pools there are shallow waters for toddlers and a<br />
pirate ship that the older children will love to climb aboard and then<br />
fire the water cannons. Children under eight years of age maximum<br />
two per adult (18+) and must be accompanied by an adult at all times.<br />
For the over 18’s Sauna World consists of two saunas, saunarium,<br />
Japanese Steam Room, Cool Pool, Fitness Room and sunbeds.<br />
Finish with a visit to the Coconut Grove Restaurant and Bar for a<br />
cooked meal or refreshing drink.<br />

Windsor Shotokan Karate Club<br />
The Instructors from this club started practicing martial arts some 37 years ago. Chief Instructor Ashley<br />
Jansen holds a 5th Dan Black Belt in Karate Jitsu and was awarded the title of Sensei (Teacher) from<br />
Master Yoshikazu Sumi 8th dan Head of the Karate School based in Japan. Ashley studied Karate under<br />
some of the most famous karate instructors in the world<br />
such as the late Kenosuke Enoeda 8th dan and Masao<br />
Kawasoe. Ashley spent several years studying under<br />
Master Sumi in Australia and Japan and stills trains with<br />
him during his visits to England every couple of years.<br />
Beginners are taught on a one to one basis or in small<br />
groups and slowly move into the main class. The classes<br />
develop tremendous levels of fitness and discipline and<br />
push all students physically and mentally in a totally safe<br />
fashion. This is a very traditional Martial Art where size<br />
and strength do not matter and mind and body become<br />
one.<br />

Brigidine is a community of pupils (girls aged 3-18 and boys aged 3-5) where everyone<br />

Boys and girls receive individual attention in small classes and are provided with a wide range of<br />
exciting opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. In addition to the academic subjects,<br />
pupils take part in a wide range of other activities each week. These include music and art as well as<br />
pursuits as diverse as riding, web site design, technology, cycling and even fishing. The school also has its<br />
own Leadership programme for senior pupils. Pupils take part in all major sports and the school has its<br />

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in Windsor<br />
Battersea Dogs & Cats Home was founded in 1860, and since then they’ve cared for over three million<br />
canine and feline waifs and strays. To bring cats on to an equal ‘paw’ with the dogs, they changed they<br />
name to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in June 2005. Their aims are to rescue lost and abandoned dogs<br />
and cats, reunite them with their owners, rehabilitate any that need extra help and rehome the ones<br />
that are left behind into loving and permanent new homes.<br />
Last year they cared for over 12,000 dogs and cats, brought in as strays from London’s streets or given<br />
to them by owners unable – or unwilling – to care for them any more. The dogs and cats are cared for<br />
by the kennel hands, and they have a team of vets and vet nurses to look after<br />
medical needs. On arrival, every dog has a behavioural and temperament<br />
assessment, and the Behaviour Unit is on hand to provide extra help in<br />
overcoming behavioural problems before rehoming.<br />
In addition to the famous site in London Battersea also have centres at<br />
Brands Hatch in Kent, and at Old Windsor in Berkshire. Many of the dogs and<br />
cats which come into Battersea really need to find peaceful, loving homes<br />
outside of the town environment, and the quiet, leafy site at Old Windsor is the<br />
perfect place for these animals to live while they wait for the right owner.<br />
There is no time limit on how long a dog or cat can stay, but it costs over<br />
£900 for each animal’s stay, no matter how long or short it is. Battersea depends<br />
