A Further History <strong>of</strong> Colac - 1830s to 1930s<br />
(The late)Isaac Hebb<br />
Local Historian Isaac Hebb left an unpublished account <strong>of</strong> Colac's<br />
economic and social development when he died in 1939. The publication<br />
<strong>of</strong> this document together with Hebb's collection <strong>of</strong> early photographs,<br />
involved many members <strong>of</strong> the Colac and District <strong>Historical</strong> <strong>Society</strong>.<br />
Long-standing businesses also contributed further information and<br />
illustrative material.<br />
Through Their Eyes: A glimpse into the lives <strong>of</strong><br />
women from Benalla & District<br />
Pam Herbert & Maree Hanlon, Benalla & District <strong>Historical</strong> <strong>Society</strong> and<br />
Benalla Family Research Group<br />
This book is a joint project <strong>of</strong> the Benalla & District <strong>Historical</strong> <strong>Society</strong> and<br />
Benalla Family Research Group. It came about from a realization that the<br />
history <strong>of</strong> local women was largely unrecorded. A call for submissions<br />
resulted in over 100 wonderful stories and photographs being preserved<br />
for posterity.<br />

This short online documentary tells the story <strong>of</strong> Leslie 'Bull' Allen <strong>of</strong><br />
Ballarat, a stretcher-bearer in the Australian Army in World War 2 who<br />
showed extraordinary bravery in recovering wounded men during battle.<br />
The film draws on archival film and photographs and features the<br />
recollections <strong>of</strong> Allen's surviving family.<br />
