National Brightwells Welsh In-Hand Championships will be held on Sunday 

11 th August 2013 at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern. Champion 

and Reserve and the two best geldings from the four Welsh Sections and 

Part-Bred Section will qualify. 

Classes 45-47 are qualifiers for the Tam O’Shanter Championship and the 

Young Handler Classes at the BCPS In-Hand Show to be held at Morton 

Morrell Agricultural College, Warwickshire on 21 st July 2013. 

The South West Pony Association Championships to be held on 6/7/8 

September 2013 at the David Broome Event Centre, Crick, Gwent.The two 

highest placed exhibits not already qualified within the first four in classes 1- 

21, 28-43 and 45-55 qualify for the SWPA Championships. To enter the 

championships complete and return the entry form on signed qualification 

card with any registration fees due within 14 days of this show. Please note: 

Registration fee for 2013 is £25 to include all members of the family and 

equines owned by the family. 

This show is affiliated to the Equifest Showing Show, to be held at the East 

of England Showground on 14-18 August 2013. The Two highest exhibits 

not already qualified in classes 1-12, 16-18, 31-41 and 45-47 will qualify. 

Silver Medal Rosettes are offered by the National Pony Society for the best 

registered pony owned by an NPS Qualifying or Life member in the M&M, 

Show Pony and Show Hunter Pony In-Hand sections. Qualifiers are 

entitled to compete in the final of the Silver Medal Rosette Championship 

to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show 6 th -8 th August 2013. 

General Information and Rules 

Rosettes to 4 th place in all classes – Special for best gelding in each class 

Best yearling rosettes if classes are amalgamated 

The Organisers reserve the right to split, amalgamate or cancel classes 

Entry fees: £6 in advance (before 5 th May) 

£8 on the day (cash only) 

First Aid – A fee of £1 per competitor to cover the costs of First Aid 

Health and Safety Any competitor or spectator who suffers any injury 

whatsoever, whilst on the showground, is responsible for informing the 

first aid personnel in attendance on the showground. The organisers 

accept no responsibility for any injury, loss or damage to any person, 

animal or property whatsoever.

The first two ponies in each Welsh will qualify for the Equifest 2013

NPS M & M In Hand Silver Medal Rosette Championship 

sponsored by Kilmannan Stud

The Champion and Reserve champion from the Welsh Section A, B, C 

and D, Shetland, Connemara and New Forest, Highland, Fell and Dales, 

Large and Small Breed M&M Classes are eligible to compete. 

The qualifier is entitled to compete in the final of the Silver Medal 

Rosette Championship to be held at the NPS Summer Championship 

Show 6 th -8 th August 2013. (See NPS Rules for eligibility) 

The sponsor’s rosette will also be awarded to the pony receiving the 

qualification. 

NPS In Hand Silver Medal Rosette Championships 

A Silver Medal Rosette is offered by the National Pony Society for the 

best registered pony owned by an NPS Qualifying or Life member in the 

Mountain and Moorland, Show Hunter Pony and Show Pony Classes at 

this Show. 

NPS Silver Medal Rosette Championships: These classes are judged under the 

Rules of the NPS. 

NPS Silver Medal Rosettes are only awarded when the owner of the 

champion pony is a Qualifying or Life member of the NPS. If the Champion 

pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but 

the qualification goes to the Reserve Champion pony, provided the owner of 

that pony is a member of the NPS. The Silver Medal Rosette and the 

qualification card can be awarded no lower than first Reserve (third). Foals 

are not eligible for Silver Medal Championships.

Class 42 Rare and Foreign Breeds Horse or Pony, any age or height

(May be split 15-25 years, and over 25 years if sufficient entries)

judged with 1 st and 2 nd prize winners from the Sport Horse/Pony 

classes. This championship will take place after Classes 52-53.

Classes 45–47 Ponies must be registered with the British Connemara 

Pony Society or the New Forest Pony Breeding and Cattle Society. 

The first two ponies in each Connemara and New Forest Class will 

qualify for the Equifest 2013 Summer Final.

Yearling colt, filly or gelding. Highest placed Connemara 

will qualify for the Tam O’Shanter Championship. 

Two and three year old colt, filly or gelding. Highest placed 

two year old and highest placed three year old Connemaras 

will qualify for the Tam O’Shanter Championship. 

Stallion, mare or gelding, 4 year old or over. Highest 

placed Connemara brood mare with foal at foot will qualify 

for the Tam O’Shanter Championship. 

Connemara and New Forest Championship - 1 st and 2 nd prize 

winners from Classes 45-47 to compete. 

The Champion and Reserve are eligible to compete for the NPS M&M 

Silver Medal Rosette Championship Qualifier at this show. 

Classes 45-47 are qualifiers for the Tam O’Shanter In-Hand 

Championship and Young Handlers Final* to be held at the BCPS Breed 

Show on 21 st July 2013. 

Connemara ponies shown in these classes by young handlers a) 12 

years and under b) 13-18 years will be awarded special rosettes and 

qualify for the final. 

Highland, Fell and Dales 

Classes 54-55 Ponies must be registered in their appropriate Breed 

Stud Book. 

The first two ponies in each Class will qualify for the Equifest 2013 

Summer Final.
