Kindy & Prep Grade 1 & 2
A Discovery Experience is a half hour program, designed
to enhance your group’s visit to Australia Zoo. Presented
by an Education Offi cer, each child will be engaged through
hands-on, curriculum-based learning experiences. Discovery
Experiences can be delivered to groups of up to 10 children
at a time, and can be booked as part of a half or full day visit * .
Depending on staffi ng, we can run multiple sessions
simultaneously. Please contact our Group Bookings
Department for further details.
* Half day visits are only available to kindy and prep groups that book a Discovery Experience.
Aussie Animals
Get up close with some of our truly amazing Australian
Animals, as we investigate them and the habitats they
live in. Perfect for young children, so hop along for an
awesome experience!
Animal Babies
By looking at some of our younger and smaller residents,
we investigate how some animals hatch from eggs, some
spend time in pouches, while others pop out as little
versions of Mum!
Animal Hide & Seek
Hide and Seek isn’t just a game that we play, it’s a matter
of survival out in the wild. We learn that colour and
pattern is for more than just show.
Animal Investigations
Help us solve the mystery of which of our animals has
been raiding our food supply! A clue was left behind,
and by investigating feathers, fur and scales, we can get
to the bottom of it.
Walkabout Tours are a guided tour provided by one of
our Education Offi cers, visiting relevant enclosures for the
topic you have chosen. Walkabout tours can be up to 45
minutes in duration, and are best conducted for groups of
between 10-15. Advanced bookings are essential.

Australian Animals
We look at some of Australia’s unique wildlife, starting
with some of our favourite exhibits! We’ll also take in the
cute and cuddly, checking out monotremes and marsupials.
Baby Animals
and Aussie Icons
A great tour for the littlies,
we look at the basic needs
(food, water and shelter) of
some of our cutest animals
and how we provide for
them.
Living in Wet
and Dry Environments
An ideal way to highlight
differences between
habitats, this tour is
designed to investigate the
adaptations of the animals
that live there.
