General Rules 

The following terms and conditions will apply to the Grand Auction and Silent Auction: 

The highest bidder of an item (Grand Auction or Silent Auction) shall be declared the purchaser by either fall of the hammer or by declaration 

by the Auctioneer and if any dispute shall arise between two or more parties the auctioneer (or other person authorised by Australia Zoo Pty 

Ltd) has the right to decide upon the dispute and their decision shall be final. 

All Grand Auction items will be at the purchaser’s risk immediately after the fall of the hammer or in respect of Silent Auction items only, at the 

closure of the Silent Auction. No responsibility will be incurred by the auctioneer or by Australia Zoo Pty Ltd for the safe keeping of items. No 

exception shall be taken to any of the items on delivery; they having been available for inspection prior to the sale, and on no account will any 

allowance be made. 

Payment in full on the night is mandatory for all Silent Auction items. Full payment on the night for Grand Auction items is preferred. A 

minimum 10% deposit on the night is mandatory for all Grand Auction items. Final balance payment by the successful Grand Auction bidder 

must be made before 5pm Monday 14th November 2011. Available payment methods include: Cash, Cheque, Mastercard, Visa, Bankcard, 

and American Express. Official receipts will be provided to the purchaser directly from Australia Zoo Pty Ltd following the event. The tax 

deductible nature of purchases are at the sole discretion of the purchaser, and Australia Zoo Pty Ltd does not represent whether any item will 

be claimable as a legitimate tax deduction. 

All sales are final and there will be no exchange or refund of items. 

Unless otherwise specified, all gift certificates and vouchers must be used by the specified dates provided by the donors where specified; 

Reservations for all trips, accommodation, and vouchers must be mutually arranged by the purchaser directly with the donor. It is the 

purchaser’s responsibility to allow sufficient time for necessary arrangements to be made with the donor to avoid disappointment. No liability 

will be accepted for vouchers not used within their validity date. 

Auction items may only be collected after making full payment and exhibiting a paid receipt to official staff members or volunteers. 

All auction items must be collected from the venue by 12.00 midnight on Saturday 12 November 2011. Items not collected will be taken to 

Australia Zoo Warehouse at 1638 Steve Irwin Way, BEERWAH Qld 4519 and may be collected during business hours (9am–4pm) on or by 

Wednesday 17 November 2010. All delivery and collection enquiries should be directed to Australia Zoo Warehouse on (07) 5436 2031. Items 

not collected after this time may, at the discretion of the organiser, be forfeited by the purchaser and resold to any third party. 

Australia Zoo Pty Ltd has endeavoured in every way to catalogue and describe all auction items accurately, but all items are sold “as is” and 

Australia Zoo Pty Ltd neither warrants nor represents, and shall not be responsible for the correctness of description, genuineness or condition 

of the items. No statement contained in the catalogue or made orally at the sale or elsewhere shall be deemed to be representation upon 

which any liability may be incurred by any party. 

Australia Zoo Pty Ltd reserves the right to withdraw and/or alter any item in sale prior to the call for bids either in the Grand Auction or 

Silent Auction. 

Australia Zoo Pty Ltd, its affiliates and their associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any misadventure, accident, illness or 

injury, loss or claim that may occur whilst a purchaser is undertaking/using/participating in the use of their prize. 

Notwithstanding any of the Rules and Conditions as listed on this page, the operation of the Grand Auction and Silent Auction remains at the 

discretion of the auctioneer and/or Australia Zoo Pty Ltd. 

Every effort has been made to ensure that all physical auction items will be displayed for viewing and other items such as holiday packages, 

dinners etc will be represented by a voucher. 

Australia Zoo Pty Ltd, its employees and associated parties shall not be held responsible or liable to any person for any statement contained in 

the catalogue, on audio visual screens, in auction display areas, or made orally at the sale for any reason. 

The minimum bid increase for Silent Auction items is $10.00 (ten dollars). 

A credit card surcharge of 1.75% applies to all Silent Auction payments.

voice on film or videotape arising out of the Program including, as may be required of you at the Producer’s discretion, your taking part in any “trailer” or photograph (taken on its own 

or as a ‘still’ from the recording) designed to publicise the Program (the “Recordings”); and (b) to use, edit, modify, alter or exploit in any way the Recordings at the Producer’s discretion 

and use your name, likeness and voice and any biographical details (which includes, without limitation, any “personal information” as defined in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the “Act”) or 

otherwise (“Personal Information”)), photographs and recordings of you separately from or in conjunction with the Program or the sponsorship thereof in all media (now known or hereafter 

devised) and formats throughout the Universe without restriction including without limitation on Program-related web-sites or other online media and in advertising, publicity, sponsorship 

and exploitation material and without any payment to you and you agree that you will not make any claim against the Producer or against any third party for such use. You also irrevocably 

consent to the Producer (and persons authorised by the Producer) transferring Personal Information about you throughout the world to related body corporate and third parties associated 

with the Program and to use the Personal Information for all other purposes contemplated herein. 7. You agree that all information relating to the business of the Producer, including the

Help release a rehabilitated koala back into the wild. 

Become the ultimate Wildlife Warrior as you work alongside the vets 

and vet nurses at the state-of-the-art Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital. 

You’ll witness first hand Australia’s busiest wildlife hospital as the team 

save precious wildlife right in front of your eyes. The best part of this 

experience is getting the call from the vet that an animal has recovered 

in care and ready to be released back to the wild. That’s when you’ll be 

jumping in the rescue vehicle with the Australia Zoo Rescue Unit and 

assisting to release a rehabilitated koala back to the wild.

Pearl necklace from Oprah Winfrey’s 

Australia Tour 

Take home Terri’s specially designed ‘O’ necklace. 

Australia Zoo and the Irwin Family have had a long-standing relationship 

with The Oprah Winfrey Show, with Steve appearing on the show 

with wildlife in 2002, and naming a koala after the popular talk show 

host. Oprah the koala gave birth to a joey in early 2010, which was 

appropriately named Harpo, after the real Oprah’s production company. 

Oprah and her audience travelled to Australia for the unique four-day 

television event Oprah’s Ultimate Australian Adventure in January 2011. 

Oprah hosted the first of two shows from the world famous Sydney 

Opera House in Australia which included a tribute to Steve Irwin with 

Terri, Bindi and Robert. 

Terri, Bindi and Robert filmed the interview at the Oprah House in 

Sydney, in front of 6,000 fans, in December last year. This necklace, 

specifically designed for the show, was given to Terri Irwin on the day, 

along with the 6,000 audience members on the day. 

This necklace with a South Sea pearl pendant and a silver O medallion, 

features precious pearls only found off the coast of north western 

Australia, where some of the largest white pearls on earth have 

been discovered.

The research trip is a vital component in crocodilian research and 

conservation, with Australia Zoo leading a team who are working to save 

crocodilian species from persecution and eventual extinction. 

Get hands-on with this awesome opportunity to be part of crocodile 

research and conservation – help to catch, measure, and tag the crocs 

in far North Queensland! PLUS, you get to name one of the crocs 

caught on the trip, which will be tagged and tracked for years to come!
