Long-term action steps (three to five years)<br />

●Facilitate the <strong>Tulane</strong> Renewal Plan, in particular as it applies to the<br />

redevelopment of the City of <strong>New</strong> <strong>Orleans</strong> and the region<br />

●Create a <strong>New</strong> <strong>Orleans</strong> Urban Design Studio, to reside at the <strong>Tulane</strong> City<br />

Center (Downtown Center) in downtown <strong>New</strong> <strong>Orleans</strong><br />

●Reinvigorate the <strong>Tulane</strong> Regional Urban Design Center (TRUDC) and<br />

move location to City Center in downtown <strong>New</strong> <strong>Orleans</strong>.<br />

Short-term action steps (one year)<br />

●Seek correspondence between the <strong>Tulane</strong> Renewal Plan with the<br />

initiation of a <strong>New</strong> <strong>Orleans</strong> Urban Design Studio, to reside at the <strong>Tulane</strong><br />

City Center (Downtown Center) in downtown <strong>New</strong> <strong>Orleans</strong><br />

●Develop an annual Design Conference to focus on issues of particular<br />

concern and merit to architectural education and the architectural<br />

profession<br />

●Locate further opportunities for funding by alumni, the community and<br />

the profession for the Lecture Series, including those that would<br />

particularly apply to architecture and urban design within the post-Katrina<br />

environment<br />

c. Continue to strengthen our alumni outreach program to enhance alumni<br />

participation and involvement with the university regionally, nationally and internationally.<br />
