SHORT CUTS
QuestNet sponsors Abu Dhabi
Men´s College
Car Show
The Hong Kong based, internationally
operating company QuestNet is
known for its versatile sponsoring in
all of Asia. Especially in motor sports,
QuestNet plays a special role because
the company is already represented in
the GP2 series as the sponsor of the
Team Malaysia QI-MeritusMahara.
com. Thus, the idea came about to support
the Car Show of the reputable and
well-known Abu Dhabi Men´s College
(ADMC). “The idea behind this and
other events of the ADMC is to introduce
the students to the organization
of events, but also to introduce them
to specific topics that fit into the corresponding
area of education. The professed
goal is to prepare the students
for professional independence. Since
we at QuestNet also only work together
with self-employed representatives,
we can not only offer financial support
but also share our experiences with the
students“, explains Khaled Diab, General
Manager QuestNet Middle East.
All attendees unanimously agreed that
the event itself was a true success. “It
was the first event of this kind in a
whole series that will follow throughout
the year. We are proud to have
been a part of it, and we are looking
forward to the coming events”, says
N. Jayakanth, Business Development
Executive Middle East, to OBTAINER
WORLDWIDE. Besides the numerous
stage highlights, the student’s vehicles
were at the centre of the attention of
course. Many cars had been “pimped“
in months worth of work - namely visually,
as well as, in any way regarding
the performance.
Thus, among other things, the socalled
“nitrooxid tuning” could be
admired whose functionality can be
explained quite easily: The so-called
N2O or simply NOS contains nitrogen
and oxygen. Thus, when NOS is
being injected into the engines it falls
apart into its original two elements
and causes the engine to be “charged“
since – that’s how one of the students
explained it – two molecules of N2O
turn into three molecules of gas. Thus,
one achieves a better charge of the cylinder
which then causes the increase
in performance. By-product is an increased
burn temperature, which however
could lead to a destruction of the
piston when injected too slowly. This
is exactly the reason why NOS is only
being employed by shoves and not to
drive from Abu Dhabi to Dubai.
“It is quite easy...”, laughs the 23-yearold
friend of a student: “The more
NOS you push in and the higher the
increase in performance is due to
that, the more you have to adjust the
engine to the increased temperatures
in the combustion chamber. Where
nothing happens during 10 seconds
of 50 HP with NOS at a series model
(editor’s note: an original engine), 10
seconds with 150 NOS HP can burn
the piston down!” But you cannot only
tune the engine, as car tuning enthusiasts
know. In the HiFi segment there
is also much more than the standard
Volkswagen radio. The sound of some
of the equipment can measure up
against modern club equipment and
very ungrateful pioneering role is not
always easy, especially in countries
with very individual religious laws and
monarchist forms of government. But
the fact alone that QuestNet’s local
sponsor comes from the royal family of
Abu Dhabi shows that QuestNet banks
on a mutual understanding between
the cultures and knows how to adapt
to local situations and laws.
“We are very happy about the foundation
of a DAS here in the Emirates, and
we will seek a membership in compliance
with the by-laws as soon as posthe
volume is also enough to fill a club
with sound – as it was impressively
demonstrated. One car, however, possessed
add-ons like no other participant
and was therefore out of the competition:
It was a vehicle of the Abu
Dhabi Police, which is also equipped
with an extremely strong engine. “So
that the young men don’t believe they
are superior to the police with their
cars on the streets“, joked the attending
lieutenant of the local police who
came in a Nissan GT-R. This Japanese
roadster accelerates faster than
a Porsche 911 GT2 or a Lamborghini
Gallardo Superleggera respectively
according to pertinent online forums.
That was also the reason why many
visitors took advantage of the opportunity
to have their picture taken with
a police man (and his car) instead of
always just being photographed by the
police :-)
Of course, QuestNet also took advantage
of the opportunity to do a little
PR work for the company on their own
during the event. Especially the clocks
by the tradition-rich Swiss brand
“Bernhard H. Mayer” attracted lots of
the visitors’ interest. In addition, the
T-Shirts of the GP2 Series were sold
for charity and a proud amount came
together here, as well. Overall a very
successful event that first and foremost
showed one thing: The company
QuestNet is quite aware of its social
responsibility as an MLM company
and intends to get even more involved
in the United Arabic Emirates and the
GCC nations. QuestNet is one of the
most successful companies in the entire
Gulf region and in many countries
is considered a pioneer of the network
marketing industry. This most often
sible. In addition, we would like to
thank Michael Sander and the entire
OBTAINER team for finally having a
medium for direct selling companies
in the Middle East. Together, many
things can be accomplished; that we
have learned with this event. We are
looking forward to the coming years
here in the UAE and of course in the
world, and we are also looking forward
to having the OBTAINER at our annual
event 2010, the V-CON in Kuala
Lumpur”, Khaled Diab bid his goodbye
to us...and hurried to the stages for the
awards ceremony.
