Management: PAN<br />

• Chronic course (months-years);<br />

exacerbations/remissions<br />

• Local wound care to any skin ulcerations<br />

• Patients without cutaneous PAN may be treated with<br />

systemic corticosteroids alone<br />

• For patients with cardiac, gastrointestinal,<br />

neurological, or renal involvement (i.e., systemic PAN):<br />

• Specialty consultation for involved organs (especially<br />

nephrology <strong>and</strong> neurology)<br />

• Adjunctive therapy with cyclophosphamide<br />

• Treat any underlying infections (e.g., HBV)
