We should note that, although Pañiccasamuppàda states one<br />

cause for one effect, and the effect becomes the cause to give<br />

rise to another effect, actually many causes take part at the same<br />

time to give rise to many effects in real life.<br />

The twenty modes discussed above may be illustrated as in<br />

Table 8.1 to show the relationship of dependence between three<br />

successive lives.<br />
