Kañaññà-råpa – kammaja-råpa and utuja-råpa. Kammajaråpa<br />

is corporeality produced by kamma and Utuja-råpa<br />

is corporeality produced by temperature.<br />

Furthermore the kammic effect occurs at pañisandhi-kàla (i.e.<br />

the arising moment of pañisandhi citta) as well as at pavitti-kàla<br />

(i.e. from the existing moment of pañisandhi-citta till death).<br />

Kamma-dvàra and three Types of Kamma<br />

The place where kamma occurs or the means by which kamma<br />

arises is called kamma-dvàra. There are three kamma-dvàras.<br />

1 Kàya-dvàra<br />

Special bodily movement called kàyavi¤¤atti where<br />

bodily action (kàya-kamma) occurs.<br />

2 Vacã-dvàra<br />

Speech-producing movement of the mouth called<br />

vacivi¤¤atti where verbal action (vacãkamma) arises.<br />

3 Mano-dvàra<br />

All cittas where mental action (mano-kamma) arises.<br />

In accordance with three kamma-dvàras, there are three types<br />

of kamma.<br />

1 Kàya-kamma<br />

Bodily action generally performed by special bodily<br />

movement called kàyavi¤¤atti.<br />

2 Vacã-kamma<br />

Verbal action generally performed by special movement<br />

of the mouth called vacãvi¤¤atti.<br />

3 Mano-kamma<br />

Mental action performed by the mind through thinking,<br />

plotting, meditating, etc.
