meditation efforts in the present life, and then attain jhànas and<br />

maggas easily if they will meditate again.<br />

‘Ti-hetuka-puggala’ refers to human beings and devas who are<br />

born with ¤àõa-sampayutta mahàvipàka cittas which contain wisdom.<br />

These persons may attain all the jhànas and all the maggas if they<br />

strenuously undertake tranquillity – and insight-meditations.<br />

The four maggaññha-persons and the four phalaññha-persons<br />

are ti-hetuka-puggala. The maggaññha persons last for just one<br />

conscious moment while they are realizing the corresponding<br />

magga-¤àõas. After the magga-¤àõas, they become phalaññha-persons.<br />

The cittas that can arise in various person in different abodes<br />
