Sailing on Lake Superior can be cold and wet (it can also be hot and wet!), so dressing in layers so that<br />

you can adjust accordingly. All your gear should be packed in a small soft-sided bag. PLEASE pack light,<br />

but don’t skimp on the warm clothing layers. Warm crew = better experience.<br />

Arrival: Crew arrive during the evening before racing, and<br />

generally hang out at the Bayfield Inn see below map<br />

Accommodations: Space is limited… Check with the boat<br />

owner, crew manager or your friend to ensure a spot on a boat.<br />

Alternatively the Bayfield Inn, Harbor’s Edge Inn Motel, Seagull<br />

Bay Motel, B&B’s, campgrounds are available.<br />

The Marina will have showers and toilet facilities.<br />

Typical Schedule<br />

DOCK TIME<br />

varies on per boat check with crew boss or owner<br />

But always be prompt and ready to race at that<br />

time!<br />

LUNCH varies by each program, some provide it;<br />

others require you to bring it. Check with the<br />

crew boss or owner so you don’t go hungry.<br />

RACE START TIME<br />

Usually 11:00am unless noted<br />

POST RACE<br />

Usually early afternoon each day<br />

Each program varies on tasks, but you should<br />

ALWAYS be prepared to help clean up the boat<br />

after the race… That is a key to getting invited<br />

back to race and have fun…<br />
