<strong>St</strong>. George lived in the third century, and was according to tradition<br />
a Roman soldier and a priest. He is most known as the<br />
dragon slayer. He was executed by Emperor Diocletian as he not<br />
only refused to offer sacrifice to the pagan gods but also professed<br />
his faith in Jesus Christ in public. Before the execution, <strong>St</strong>.<br />
George gave his wealth to the poor and prepared himself. Witnessing<br />
his suffering and torture, others became Christians as<br />
well. He attained martyrdom defending his Christian faith. People<br />
from all walks of life seek his intercession.<br />
