August 2012
Dear Paly Students and Families,
It is my pleasure to welcome our new and returning students and families to Paly! We have
many traditions and a long history of success, which we continue to experience on all fronts. We
work extremely hard to ensure your student’s experiences at Paly are exceptional and to provide
them with as many opportunities to feel connected as we can. I like to say that Paly has something
for everyone; there are many ways to be a “Viking.” Check out our “Welcome to Paly” brochure on
www.paly.net.
Earlier this month I sent you an email sharing some highlights of our work over the last three
months. This packet is a follow-up and contains critical information that you and your student will
need as summer ends and we launch into this school year. Please pay special attention to the
information about the opening of school.
Please make www.paly.net your “go to” spot for information about the opening of school
and anything you can think of related to Paly.
Below you will see some key points that we want to emphasize as we open school:
In our effort to streamline all of our processes, both purchases and donations may be made
online at the Paly Web Store at www.paly.net (lower right side of the Paly web site home
page)
Paly Student Handbook can be found at www.paly.net/info. The handbook has a wealth of
information and can answer almost any question you might have.
If your family could use financial assistance for various activities or school related functions,
please complete the Application for Free and Reduced-Price Meals 2012-2013 form, available
in the Guidance Office, Main Office, or online at www.pausd.org. If you qualify, your
student may get assistance for lunches, testing fees, dances, end of year activities and more.
Adolescent Counseling Services (ACS) provides free counseling to any student on campus.
Take a look at their website www.acs-teens.org.
For ALL scheduling issues or questions related to the start of school, please see our “Jumpstart to
the New School Year” on www.paly.net.
