Orchestra 42nd Season<br />

Third Concert<br />

A Program <strong>of</strong> Music From<br />

Great Britain<br />

The <strong>Palo</strong> <strong>Alto</strong> Chamber Orchestra<br />

will perform the third concert <strong>of</strong> its<br />

Sports Announcements<br />

season on Sunday, March 2 at 3pm, at<br />

Dinkelspiel Auditorium on the<br />

Stanford University campus. Program<br />

featuring music from Great Britain,<br />

and popular local violin virtuoso<br />

Robin Sharp. George Frederic Handel<br />

was born in Germany but found fame<br />

and fortune in 18th century London;<br />

the program will begin with one <strong>of</strong><br />

his delightful Concerto Grossi.<br />

Vaughan-Williams’ seldom heard<br />

Concerto Accademico for Violin and<br />

String Orchestra will be performed<br />

by Ms. Sharp. The program will<br />

conclude with Edward Elgar's<br />

beloved Serenade for String<br />

Orchestra. The program will also<br />

feature selected movements from<br />

masterpieces <strong>of</strong> the chamber music<br />

repertoire, performed by ensembles<br />

comprised <strong>of</strong> PACO members. For<br />

Bethany’s 2007-08 Speaker Series features<br />

renowned, dynamic speakers who will share<br />

their expertise in specific areas <strong>of</strong> parenting.<br />

Gloria Moskowitz-Sweet, LCSW,<br />

Coordinator, Parents Place Express, will be<br />

speaking at Bethany Lutheran Church, 1095<br />

Cloud Ave., Menlo Park, on Thursday, March<br />

13, 7-9pm, topic: “Creating Resilient<br />

Children”. Topic summary: Something about<br />

raising children has changed in today's fastpaced<br />

world. Many parenting experts feel<br />

that parents are under continuous pressure<br />

to plan, enrich, and do this important<br />

parenting job precisely the right way. The<br />

pressure and stress on today's families can<br />

be overwhelming. This workshop will focus<br />

on the challenges <strong>of</strong> raising children in<br />

today's "hurry up" world and will discuss<br />

strategies for raising resilient and healthy<br />

children, and how parents can establish<br />

healthy family schedules and find the right<br />

balance for their families. Reservations<br />

Stanford Cyclone<br />

a Class 3, U11 Girls (born after 7/31/96) CYSA Team,<br />

is looking to add strong, competitive, and motivated<br />

players to the roster. Dedicated and positive<br />

coaching by collegiate trained women committed to<br />

developing individual athletes and a skilled, competitive<br />

team. Interested players are invited to participate in<br />
