I would like to thank everyone associated with Beech Green, whether parents, staff, governors or most importantly children, for the part you have played in continuing to make our school a happy and successful community. We say an affectionate farewell to our Year 6 children, and wish them every success as they move on to the next stage in their school career. We also wish Mrs Bennett and Mrs Spencer restful maternity leaves, and await the outcomes with much anticipation! Finally, may I wish every Beech Green family a happy (and hopefully dry!) summer, and I look forward to renewing our partnership in September. The Governing Body would like to take this opportunity at the end of the academic year to wish all those who will be moving on from the school in the summer, great things for the future; and to thank all the staff and volunteers that come into school for their continuing hard work and dedication to the ongoing development of the school. It has been an interesting and challenging 12 months and the school is moving from strength to strength. Happy holidays! Clare Medland, Chair of Governors. Opening of school gates
Just a quick reminder that the gates to the playground are not opened until 8.45 a.m. in the morning. At
the end of the school day we aim to open them at 3.00 p.m. – although it may be a little later occasionally.

Junior Youth Speaks Competition
The school was invited to take part in the Rotary Club of Severnvale Junior Youth Speaks
competition, which provides opportunities for children (aged 10/11) to take part in a public
speaking competition with pupils from other schools. An internal heat was organised and judged
by Rotary representatives and the winner and runner up were invited to take part in the Grand
Final against other local schools. Two pupils from Year 6, Abbie Klus and Sophie Evans, took
part in the Grand Final and we are all delighted that the judges panel selected Abbie Klus as
winner of the competition with her very interesting presentation on New Zealand.
Congratulations to Abbie and well done also to Sophie.
Farewell to our leavers
If you are leaving Beech Green today, either because you are going on to secondary school
SCHOOL - YEAR 6
PRESENTED
EDITH’S WARTIME
SCRAPBOOK
Pupils, staff, parents , grandparents and residents from
Chestnut Court were treated to a nostalgic end of term
performance. Memories (for those old enough) were rekindled
and even the younger members of the audience learned the
World War II story of Edith and her family. The children sang
‘the roof off ‘our school hall . A tear jerking performance –
Well done Year 6. We wish you well in your new schools !
