CHILDREN’S SURVEY 2009
Earlier this year we undertook a survey of children’s views on various aspects of
school life. We gave each child 12 statements and asked them to either agree
or disagree with them. These are the results.

Children also had the opportunity to comment on what they liked best about our
school and what they would like to change. Here is a sample of the typical
comments made in Key Stage 2.
What I like most about Beech Green.
‘I can have help and support from others’ (Y3).
‘I like the teachers because they are kind and fun’ (Y3).
‘ I like all the kind children and my lessons that are fun’ (Y4).
‘I love the fun subjects we do and the great people at school, and I love
what the school do for us!’ (Y4).
‘What I like most about school is that the teachers do their job right and
they do it with care’ (Y4).
‘I like the fact that people will listen to what you say’ (Y5).
‘Adults are very helpful at the work you do and they explain it well’ (Y5).
‘We have good school trips and the teachers are very friendly. Also we
have lots of fun clubs and we have good equipment and a big field to play

‘I would like to change children’s behaviour and the back playground
equipment’ (Y3).
‘I would like to have some adventure equipment on the big playground’

‘The playground because it gets boring after a while’ (Y4).
‘Try to stop people being mean to others and hurting them’ (Y5).
‘Arts Week to be longer’ (Y5).
‘People interrupting lessons’ (Y5).
‘Nothing, I like it the way it is’ (Y5).
‘I would like to change the people who don’t behave and spoil it for the
well behaved children’ (Y5).
