Administration
is carried out in the style of Windows
Explorer. With the integrated data compression,
you can backup your larger
projects simply on disc or send them
directly by e-mail.
From laptop to server
Naturally, the AUER Bausoftware is
networkable, which means that the
programmes can be installed on standalone
computers or can be easily networked.
Most of the programme components
allow a project to be dealt with
by several people at the same time. The
individual license can be converted to
an open licence. The software can grow
with you at ease.
Above and beyond that, our programme
is not bound to the constraints of a local
network. Operation as a terminal server
is possible and has been tried out several
times in practice.
Address and document
administration
An integrated address administration
is at your disposal when managing
addresses and fields of work, printing
address lists, labels and individual or
mass letters. Every address can be
assigned to up to one hundred contacts.
This programme is not limited to managing
text documents created by the programme.
It can also manage PDF-files,
Excel spreadsheets, pictures and many
other file types.

You can either send all your printouts
directly to the printer/plotter, or you can
view them in the print preview. This also
applies to print projects with over 1000
pages. The selection of individual pages
saves printing costs, because only the
highlighted pages are printed.
The data exchange options included in
the print preview simplify communication

programme enables you to send the

Tender
The main task of a tender programme
is quickly creating specification catalogues.
You should be able to use some
item texts like texts from the standard
specifications (books provided by the
government regulating the jobs to be
carried out by certain workers).
In addition to that you can import supplementary
bills of quantities online.
Tenders for projects of every size
Quantity calculations
For every item you can store the quantity
calculations in a separate window
with a formula of your choice. This
means that the quantities tendered will
be perfectly documented. The specification
catalogue quantities can be taken
from the "construction invoice" module.
A conversion factor can adapt all values
to any new situation, if required.
Graphic quantity determination
Special interfaces enable you to take
CAD quantity determinations from
Allplan FT, the graphic quantity determination
programme.
This tool makes it possible to take
item amounts directly from CAD plans.
Architects and master builders will find
calculating quantity needs and specification
catalogue compilation much
easier.
Calculation for the Amount of Debris
An integrated function automatically calculates
the amount of debris according
to the SR-structural engineering (manual
pertaining to structural engineering)
when tendering demolition work. At the
press of a button you will see a correlation
of the stored items in the specification
catalogue.
Pictures illustrating long descriptions
A picture can be placed next to every
item in the specification catalogue, if
required. Using the simple, integrated
graphic programme, you can create the
required sketches or imported existing
graphic files (bitmaps, windows Meta
files, Jpeg and GIF-files). The pictures
can also be seen in the printed specifications,
if required.

In AUER Success NG you can manage
your data according to projects. You
can create and print out address lists,
standard letters or telephone lists.
The addresses you have saved can
be accessed by every other module in
the AUER Bausoftware. You can also
use the addresses with a standard programme
(e.g. MS-Word or MS-Excel),
using an interface.
Changing the data carrier
In accordance with the respectively
applicable country specific norms and
standards, changing the data carrier
is an integral part of our programme,
naturally at no extra cost. The file format
is automatically recognised when you
import it. This saves you and your partners'
time and money. The data carrier
analysis has been integrated into AUER
Success NG .
Printing options
The print layout is entirely your choice,
whether it is an empty specification
catalogue or one with prices, quantity
calculations, cloze text, transferrals or
grouped sums, with or without a text
description.

Price comparision
After sending your invitation to tender,
you receive tenders from various potential
suppliers. You can quickly and simply
enter the names of the companies
submitting the tenders and read the
prices from different data carriers into
AUER Success NG . You quickly gain an
overview of the tendering companies’
prices using the price comparison function.
The prices will be
revised in a clear and
comprehensive table
Tender variants
You do not have to use the price comparison
just on the basis of the specification
catalogue quantities, but also
with the different forecast amounts and
with actual quantities invoiced. Forecast
amounts can be read in a concise
spreadsheet or in the "construction
costs" module.
Data carrier exchange
For the import of prices we offer an
intelligent data interface, made in accordance
with the respectively applicable
country specific standards. The software
automatically recognises different
data formats. The prices are imported
including all surcharges and discounts.
Analyses included
Alongside the ABC Analysis, AUER
Success NG offers you a special heavyduty
deviation analysis. This compares
a tendering company with the average
price or your own price.
Best tender determination
Using the Bundesvergabegesetz
(Purchase contract award act) as a
basis, the best economic offer can be
calculated. In addition to the price, various
other quality criteria can be taken
into account. For the presetting
10 quality criteria are available.
Tender evaluation and price comparison
list
The programme checks the tenders for
you in terms of completeness and for
any miscalculations. Miscalculations
will be stored in a protocol, according
to guidelines and calculated to a final
sum. You can then compare your own
prices with the theoretically cheapest
tender and the average sum. When
awarding the contract you can create a
data file with the awarding specification
catalogue. This way, you can exchange
the set prices with your contractual partners.
Alongside that, there are interfaces
which enable you to export the data in
CSV format or as an Excel spreadsheet.

more elements, a element can also be
made up of different elements or specification
items. Market-tested prices are
linked by optionally depositing a standard
specification log with recommended
prices or calculations.

for you to complete your quantity determinations
and specifications in one
operation. Along with the specification
catalogue items you can also store specification
and drawings.
Diverse printing options make sure that
your information is put in writing.
Keeping order by division
By means of a logical element link with

You can also purchase our recommended
price database with approx. 20,000
recommended prices, which is also suitable
for the manual for master builders
of structural engineering.

Meetings manager
Meetings are part of the everyday life
of every office and construction company.
This leads to a large amount of
protocols that are hard to keep track
of. When the number of documents
increases, keeping track of points and
defects yet to be completed becomes
harder.
The meetings manager supports you by
simply and quickly completing project
specific documents such as meeting
protocols, acceptance certificates. It
also helps when following up on defects
and keeping a calendar of appointments
and a list of completed tasks. The meetings
manager is the ideal tool for site
agent or supervisor, project managers,
construction supervisors and secretaries,
because of its versatility.

Organisation and documentation
All project protocols are sorted into
an index tree. Protocols from a series
of meetings that belong together
(construction meetings, Jour-Fix) can be
managed in a set of meetings. This has
the advantage that all members to be
invited and all points not yet discussed
can be taken from the previous protocol.
Punctual and sufficient preparation for
the meeting is possible.
Every piece of information, from the

Auditing
Auditing takes place on a second data
level above the contracting agency's
dimensions. If corrections need to be
made to the formula or the item number,
delete the original by pressing the button.
The correct basis is then written in
the new line above it. The data transfer
is guaranteed in the further linkage.
Calculations are carried out freely or by
using one of the approx. 170 available
formulas.
The quantity calculations are either
transferred in AUER Success NG format or
via the optional import interface, according
to current norms.
Delete and overwrite items
Quick Analysis
The programme automatically creates
analyses such as summary sheets, interim
and final accounts from the quantity
calculations. Changes in the dimension
sheets have an effect on the invoice.
The assistant can be activated in every
calculation cell.
Data Protection
Allocate separate passwords to original
calculation and auditing. This ensures
both of the contractual parties that their
data will not be altered. The contractual
party can see the corrections but cannot
make any further alterations.
Optimal documentation
All corrections made to the dimension
will be taken into account by every
module up to and including the final
statement, and will also be saved.
Analyses
The quantities and corrections recorded
can be selected according to construction
part, performance or invoicing
period, company, party, process or work

The data is organised according to subject
areas (specification manuals). You
can compare the same items used for
different projects easily and quickly. You
can access all available data from all
AUER Bausoftware's modules.

The data can come from different sources
e.g. from specification catalogues,
calculations or from memory media of
the respectively applicable standard.
The programme extracts the hourly
rates from the calculations and the
results from the post-calculations directly
from the controlling modules. You can
also enter other data manually.

During the calculations, you can download
results from the post-calculations
and pre-calculations. You can see in

Simple Project Management
Project management is simpler than
ever before with AUER Success. You
simply draw your calendar with your
mouse in the same way you did before
with a pencil on paper - only considerably
quicker.
The processes shown are defined by
start date and duration. Every process
can be linked to each other.
Work schedule
Using the calendar you can quickly
and easily see your days off work. The
construction schedule can be implemented
according to the calendar or the
working days.
Entry in tabular form and graphical processing
Resources
You can equip every stage with up to 16
resources. The three resources from the
fix programmes - hours, turnover and
costs are taken from the construction
invoices and calculations. With a few
pieces of data, you can create a link
between the spread sheet (construction
schedule) and the quantity calculations
(invoice). The resource plan is automatically
updated.
Processing layouts and print options
You can save a number of different processing
layouts and print options which
can also be recreated at any time. The
plan can be printed using a plotter or a
normal printer. If the plan is too big for
your printer, you can print it in sections.
If required, the construction schedule
can be saved as a graphic file and
exported to another programme.
Integrated resource planning
You can update your resource planning
at the touch of a button when changing
the quantity calculations, invoicing or
basis for calculations. You do not even
need an interface programme. You can
incorporate the files concerning the
construction invoice and the calculation
into the construction schedule.

Finding the right supplier (subcontractor)
for an open contracted service is

the price, other qualitative factors are
becoming more and more significant.
Documenting and cultivating a relationship
between you and your supplier is
also becoming increasingly important.
A modern supplier management system
therefore has to offer information about
the quality of work offered by a supplier
i.e. how well the work is carried out,
punctuality, co-operation during the offer
phase etc.
Project specific assessment
At first the assessment is project specific.
Every supplier working on a certain
project will be awarded a grade from 1
to 5. Various performance criteria will be
taken into account.
The result is taken from the average
scores awarded for the list of criteria.
Once the project has been completed,
and subsequently the assessment, you
can transfer the entire supplier assessment
to the address specific assessment.

If you have opened the address
management module, which is under
"Branches", you can see the supplier
assessments ordered according to their
address. Here, you can compare every

Gross average wage
The basis for every calculation
A precise value of the average wage
is the basis of every good calculation.
Depending on the composition of the
team that works on the construction
site, substantial differences in the gross
average wage are possible. A simple
and quick tool for calculating or checking
the average wage is necessary.
The applicable standard provides an
average wage rate for the calculation
of the K2, K3, K3A and K3R calculation
forms. The calculation procedure
is substantially speeded up by AUER
Success NG .
The programme module for calculating
the gross average wage, which is provided
by AUER Success NG , is recommended
by the Austrian Standards Institute.

and transferred to the K2 sheet.
The basic settings are stored each time
you create a new sheet so that a quick
generation of new K sheets is possible.
Whenever you need this data, you simply
upload the sheet from any available

For subcontractors in the building industry,
and also in case of smaller offers, an
extensive calculation is frequently not
required. Often a simple and quick entry
of data is much more important.

Proper controlling already before the
start of construction works
In connection with invoicing of construction
services and controlling you are
able to use an easy-to-use tool for
the calculation of profit forecasts. By
assigning important positions and item
groups to corresponding time periods, a
calculatory preparation of planning data
is made possible.
The solution
A bar chart which focuses on the primary
construction services provides
you with the required information. You
can enter time bars into the flowchart
for important positions or item groups.
This enables the assignment of performance
units to construction months as
well. Depending on the strength of the
bar the programme assigns the performance
aliquot to the corresponding
construction months.
Time-weighted diagrams
In combination with an advance scheduling,
the development of turnover can be
calculated from the bill of quantities.
The budget
The initial planning is created immediately
after the order has been assigned.
This forms the budget for the construction
site.
Costs, turnover and working hours are
presented as a table. The processing
of data in other information systems is
enabled by means of ASCII data transfer.

An on-time invoicing is indispensable for
the commercial success of a construction
project.
The volume calculations are prepared
during the execution of the construction
works on measurement sheets.
The volume calculation is prepared
either as free text, which is supported
by a collection of approximately 170
formulas, or directly in the invoice. Each
formula is explained by means of an
illustration.
If necessary, these can be transferred
directly to the measurement sheet for
further editing. In addition to formulas
for applicable standards, a number of
other practical formulas are provided,
such as for instance trench dimensions
and asphalt volumes by stages.
Flexible tool
The variables that are used in the freetext
formulas provide a flexible tool

Controlling
Comparison of target and actual
budget
The data of the calculation represent
the cost budget of the construction site.
Due to the integration with the invoicing
of construction works, actual costs and
actual working hours are invoiced. By
means of a permanent comparison of
actual vs. target figures, deviations can
be quickly recognised and analysed,
while trends can be calculated in advance.
The interaction between the data of the
invoice, costing and cost accounting or
registration of work hours result in two
different controlling possibilities.
The data for the target/actual comparison can be replaced by way of an integrated interface.
Target/actual costs
The assignment of costs is realised
through an adaptation of calculated
costs to commercial cost accounting.
This allows a comparison with the
results from cost accounting.
After you have created the cost structure,
you can calculate the volumes
from the invoicing data for a cost comparison.
An invoicing shopping basket is
created for the accounted volumes.
By assigning operating resources from
the shopping basket to the costing
structure of cost accounting, a comparison
is achieved with calculated costs.
Target/actual working hours
Working hours are listed separately
by a construction work code (BAS). A
construction work code combines the
same activities from different performance
positions.
Every time unit is already assigned
a BAS number in the calculation. In
combination with the invoiced measurements,
the target working hours are
charged according to the construction
work code. By comparing these with the
actual working hours you can carry out
an analysis by area of activity.
Recalculation of working hours
The deviations, which are detected in
comparing the target against the actual
working hours, are processed by running
a recalculation..
Cost allocation follow-up
The impact of cost allocations is transparent
at all times. A separate analysis
can be made for providing an overview
of the allocations on the calculation.

With this programme module you can
link the measurements that are part of
the construction invoice with the data
of the calculation. You can filter out
the invoicing quantities according to
numerous criteria, all the way to individual
measurement sheets. By linking
time periods, equipment and material
estimates, you define a shopping basket.
This makes it possible to quickly create
the required data without extra effort
which are needed for implementing
performance-oriented piecework wages,
the planning of construction time and
the deployment of men, machines and
materials.
Depending on what you require, you
can apply a conversion factor to the
planned construction time at the site.
Planning of work packages
Construction time planning, staff disposition,
piecework wages and bonus
calculations; all of these working areas
are supported with analyses and working
aids. Adapted printouts have been
made available for various purposes,
such as for instance a summarised list
of guidelines which includes an hourly
value for each construction part, or a
detailed sheet of all volume calculations,
including the time and materials
that have been planned.

The list of planned working hours is a
useful instrument for planning and coordinating
the deployment of staff on the

Daily report tool
Daily construction site reporting
The daily preparation of reports is a
time-consuming chore for engineers and
construction site managers. By means of
basic settings and optimized copy-andpaste
possibilities, daily paperwork is
reduced to a minimum.
All input fields can be parametrised for
frequently returning values. A construction
diary can be prepared in one single
screen mask.
Text processing
This module supports all installed font
types and all important formatting commands.
You can use the integrated text
processing system for describing the
construction performances that have
been carried out.
Direct access to the bill of quantities
Within the text processing module, you
have direct access to the bill of quantities.
A review of this long text document
saves searching of the bill of quantities.
Construction diary in a single well-organised mask
Integrated volume calculation
Each construction diary offers the
possibility of quickly calculating measurements.
You can use these volume
calculations for preparing new measurement
sheets in the "Bauabrechnung"
module (optional). The results of these
measurements are inserted into interim
and final invoices.
Construction plan logging
The daily deliveries of construction
plans are protocolled in the integrated
construction plan log. This gives you
an overview of the plans that you have
received and passed on. The assignment
of recipients and senders of plans
are coordinated in the integrated address
management module.

type criteria. An ongoing and precise
control of costs is made easy with this

Contract work reporting
This module offers you the same comfort
when preparing your contract work
reports. This report can be integrated in
your construction diary or it can be printed
out separately. The data of contract
work performances can be transferred
to the module "Bauabrechnung ".

Would you like to know when and in
what connection the word "acceptance"
has, for instance, been used in a report?
You do not longer have to search
through the entire construction diary. Let
your PC do the searching for you. The
result is a list of the reports, in which the
required term occurs.
In addition, data queries of the construction

answer as to who received which plan
and when.

AUER Success NG at the construction
site
Handling projects directly at the
construction site is no longer a problem
with the mobile measuring system.
You can download as many AUER
Success projects to your Pocket PC
(PDA) as you like, and then take them
along to the construction site. There you
can then prepare your measurement
sheets.
The system has a complete bill of quantities
at its disposal.
If a laser measuring device is not available,
then the data can also be entered
manually into each corresponding measurement
sheet.
Recovery of data
The measurement sheets that were
prepared at the construction site are
downloaded from your PDA and subsequently
into an AUER Success project,
when you are back at the office. This
means that you dispose over a PDA and
a PC version of the mobile measuring
system and can switch between both
without problems. The PDA version can
also be used as an optimal supplement
to the AUER construction diary.
Laser-controlled measuring
The distance measuring device uses
wireless technology, which can be used
without any problems at every construction
site. Distances can be measured in
every direction from a single point. This
work can be carried out by a single person.
The measuring device is light and
easy to handle. The PDA is linked to the
measuring device and measurements
are immediately recorded there. AUER
has designed the user interface in its
new software in such a way that everyone
can work with this product after a
short introduction.
