arvoabstracts@arvo.org to your email address book or Safe Sender White List to facilitate delivery and avoid<br />

firewalls and spam filters. If you’re unsure of how to add to your Safe Sender White List, contact your email<br />

administrator.<br />

Warning: If you update your name or email in your abstract submission site account, you must also submit the<br />

same update(s) to arvo@arvo.org to update your membership account record as well. If you log out on the<br />

abstract submission site and return to your abstract at a later date, your membership account record’s name and<br />

email will overwrite any abstract submission site account name/email updates you have made.<br />

<strong>Abstract</strong> Review/Scheduling<br />

All abstracts with a Submitted status as of 11:59 pm, U.S. Eastern Time, on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013 are reviewed<br />

by the AMPC. The reviewing process is strictly confidential and all reviewers have agreed to the following: "I<br />

understand the confidential nature of the abstracts, and I will not discuss their contents with any individual, nor will<br />

I make copies of abstracts for my own or others' use. In addition, I will not review any abstracts where conflict of<br />

interest may be perceived, i.e., work on which I have authored or co-authored or work completed in laboratories<br />

where I work."<br />

The AMPC reserves the right to reject abstracts according to the <strong>Abstract</strong> Rejection Criteria. Failure to comply<br />

with the <strong>Abstract</strong> Rejection Criteria and the <strong>Abstract</strong> <strong>Submission</strong> <strong>Guidelines</strong> will result in rejection of your abstract,<br />

at the sole discretion of the AMPC.<br />

NOTE: <strong>Abstract</strong>s submitted without data or that state “results will be presented at a later time" will be<br />

rejected.<br />

<strong>Abstract</strong> notifications will be emailed to the First Authors on Tuesday, February 18 th , 2014.<br />

Note: The First Author email address provided in the First Author’s abstract submission site account must be<br />

correct or notifications and other abstract-related correspondence cannot be delivered. Add<br />

ts.acsupport@thomson.com and arvoabstracts@arvo.org to your email address book or Safe Sender White List to<br />

facilitate delivery and avoid firewalls and spam filters. If you’re unsure of how to add to your Safe Sender White<br />

List, contact your email administrator.<br />

All accepted abstracts are assigned for presentation to either a Paper (oral) Session or Poster Session at the<br />

discretion of the <strong>ARVO</strong> Annual Meeting Program Committee (AMPC).<br />

<strong>Abstract</strong>s may be scheduled for presentation on any day of the 2014 <strong>ARVO</strong> Annual Meeting, i.e., Sunday, May 4<br />

through Thursday, May 8th. Mark your calendar now for possible required attendance on any one of these days!<br />

Changes to scheduled abstract presentation dates and times cannot be made; no exceptions.<br />

Poster Presentations<br />

<strong>Abstract</strong>s accepted and scheduled for poster presentation must be displayed all day on their scheduled day of<br />

presentation.<br />

- Posters must be mounted on their assigned posterboards by 8:30 am on their scheduled presentation day.<br />

- First Authors must be present at their mounted poster during both their scheduled poster session time and the<br />

“All Posters Session” time on their scheduled presentation day.<br />

- Posters must remain on their posterboards until the end of that day.<br />

- Posters not displayed all day and not presented during the two presentation times will be considered “no-show”<br />

and will result in rejection of the First Author's abstract submission to the 2015 Annual Meeting.<br />

- Refer to the Program Schedule for daily poster open/close and "All Posters Session" times.<br />

Full text of all abstracts accepted for presentation and publication will be available through the <strong>ARVO</strong><br />

Annual Meeting website on March 4, 2014, via the Annual Meeting’s Mobile App.<br />
