First Annual Symposium
TransRadial Angiography
and Intervention
Target Audience and Statement of Need
Recent publications suggest a low rate of radial
procedures in the United States despite decreased
vascular complications with this procedure. The more
frequent reason that patients are not offered the radial
approach is that only a relatively small percentage
of interventional cardiologists in the U.S. are trained
in the technique. The objective of the course is to
increase awareness of the radial procedure and to
educate and update interventional cardiologists, general
and interventional cardiology fellows on the latest
innovations in transradial angiography and intervention.
Symposium Description
The symposium is one day and is designed
and developed to prepare approximately 100
interventionalists and physicians-in-training in
the latest transradial angiography and intervention
innovations. The symposium will review the evidence
base for performing transradial interventions, basics of
transradial intervention, along with case presentation
and panel discussion.
Please note, CME credits are not available for this symposium.
Educational Objectives
At the conclusion of the symposium, attendees will:
patients undergoing coronary angiography and
interventions, and the value of transradial intervention
at reducing this risk
• Understand basic aspects of patient, device, and
therapy selection as it relates to transradial access/
intervention
• Learn the basic, intermediate and advanced aspects of
transradial access/intervention including dealing with
complications
