GERDAU SIDENOR I+D, the research and development centre
of Gerdau Sidenor, focuses its activities on the innovation of
products and the processes of production, transformation and
use of Special Steels.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES
• Development of working groups with customers. Aim: to
improve the competitiveness of our customers through savings
in costs.
• Design of new special steel grades.
• Classification of special steels in service conditions.
• Development and implementation of new production processes
aimed at increasing the final quality of the product, anticipating
new market demands and respecting the environment.
• Development and application of numerical and physical
simulation tools that acts as support to the process of
innovation.

CARBURIZING STEELS: FINAL COMPONENTS’ QUALITY
