The Costliness Of Salvation.

2. God's eternal covenant with Christ explained.

3. The Spirit's work: DECLARE the plan daily.

VI. The Costliness Of Salvation.
A. Creation was easy for God, and came about through his spoken word. Note:
1. "And God said, Let there be light: and there was light" (Gen. 1:3; see also 1:6, 9, 11, 14, 20,
24,26).
2. "When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou
hast ordained, what is man, that thou art mindful of him?" (Ps. 8:3, 4).
3. "By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, and all the host of them by the breath of
his mouth ... for he spoke, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast" (Ps. 33:6, 9).
B. Salvation was expensive, and came about through His own shed blood. Note:
1. "Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?" (Isa. 53:1).
2. "Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken,
smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised
for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are
healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and
the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all" (Isa. 53:4-6).
3. "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and
gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; but with the
precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot" (1 Pet. 1:18,19).
4. In the book of Revelation John records all of heaven praising Christ for his work in creation
(4:11) and salvation (5:9).
