care about how hannah felt, but hit her butt because of the list that mentioned about how
Hannah’s butt is the best on in Freshmen class. Hannah’s butt obviously got her into this
mess, and therefore, her butt symbolizes ignorance.
Analysis
People, knowing that Hannah has the best butt in the Freshmen class, only hangs out with
her and want to sleep with her because of her butt. Hannah repeatedly mentions that she
wants to be viewed for who she is and not for her rumors, but nobody really cares about
what she thinks. People view her for her butt and nothing else, which means that people
are ignoring how Hannah really feels. Hannah says, “But what happens when someone
says you have the best ass in the freshman class? Let me tell you, Alex, because you’ll
never know. It gives people-some people- the go-ahead to treat you like you’re nothing
but that specific body part”(Asher 44). This quote says that people ignored her as a
person and saw her only as her butt.
