Congratulations! We are pleased to offer you admission as a resident member of Residential Colleges in the
year 2013-14.
If you accept this offer, you are required to comply with the University Regulations Governing Residential
Colleges, which will be finalized and approved by the University in due course. Please read the enclosed
Important Notes carefully and signify acceptance by returning a completed and signed copy of this letter.
Upon accepting this admission offer, you should pay the requisite charges of the Colleges unless you give
written notification of your decision of withdrawal at least three days before the assigned move-in date.
Please return your acceptance of the offer of admission either via e-mail (lwsrc@hku.hk), by fax (Tel: (852)
2872-6635), or in person to the Residential Colleges (9 Lung Wah Street, Kennedy Town, Hong Kong) by
17:00 hour on 31 May 2013 (Friday). If your reply is not received by the deadline, the offer will be
automatically withdrawn.

Important Notes to Successful Applicants
Annex I
Lodging Fee
1. The lodging fee of Residential Colleges for year 2013-14 is shown in the table below (for
282 days; from 24 August 2013 to 1 June 2013, both nights inclusive; students shall checkout
by 12:00, 2 June 2013).

2. Lodging fee will be charged by TWO installments. In addition to the lodging fee, an amount
of HK$1,000 High Table Dinner Fee PER SEMESTER (non-refundable) will be charged.
Debit note of lodging fee and High Table Dinner fee will be issued to you after your
moving-in. HK$50 smart card value (non-refundable) will be charged upon your check-in.
College and Room Assignment
3. Assignment of college and room type for successful applicants will be notified individually.
Students may not be assigned to the room type of their first preference. Request of change of
room type will not be entertained.
Move-in Date
4. Please refer to the individual notice about the earliest move-in date arranged by the Office.
You may arrange to move-in later. However, please make request to the office in advance
and state the latest check-in date for approval from the office if you plan to move-in more
than 7 days after the assigned move-in day. Your place will be cancelled if you do not movein
accordingly without prior approval from the office.
Withdrawal from Residence During Residential Year
5. The Colleges will seek replacement upon withdrawal. For students withdrawing from
residence after check-in, lodging fee will be charged until the vacancy is filled up by another
student, or 30 days after the check-out date, whichever is earlier. For students who have not
checked-in but withdraw from the offer after 21 August 2013, 14 days of lodging fee will be
charged. Please be reminded that no replacement of room will be arranged in December,
April and May.
