Dear Parents/Guardians
2013 Calendar
As your son/daughter is a member of the competition classes for General Gymnastics, and to allow you
and the Club to plan ahead, we set out below a competition/payments calendar for the remainder of
2013. All gymnasts that train at the Munrow Sports Centre are expected to compete as part of their
training programme. Note that some competition events are selection only, so keep that date free until
after the selection date has passed.
Please note that for all the below competitions you will have to provide your own transportation. Parents
and supporters are more than welcome to watch and cheer for the Club, you will be much appreciated.
There will be an admission fee on the door for each event and at some events there will also be charges
for car parking.
5 th May – Birmingham Friendly Championships (BIRMINGHAM)
Venue: Cocks Moors Woods Leisure Centre
Gymnasts will compete as part of a team and will aim to win a team and individual medal. They will
perform a set floor routine (straight line) and twice on vault. This competition has two ability bands;
Novice (1-2hrs per week) and Advanced (3-6hrs per week).
Cost: £5.00 – payment is overdue J
RE-ENROLMENT: Course 13.2 (30 th May – 10 th August). Payment accepted from 25 th April.
DEADLINE: 11 th May
19 th May – Birmingham Invitational Four Piece (BIRMINGHAM) *Selection already made
Venue: Streetly Sports Centre, Foley Rd East, Streetly, West Midlands
Gymnasts will compete as part of a team and will aim to win a team medal on each apparatus and
overall. They will perform a voluntary routine on floor, bars, beam and vault, with skills being tariffed
according to their difficulty
Cost: £6.00 – payment is overdue J
16 th June – West Midlands Team Championships (STOKE) *Selection only by 11 th May
Venue: Fenton Manor Sports Complex, City Road, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 2RR
Gymnasts will compete as part of a team only, aiming to win an overall team medal. They will compete
twice on vault and will perform a voluntary floor routine on a 12m x 12m area, girls to music.
Cost: £5.00 – payment due 18 th May
RE-ENROLMENT: Course 13.3 (15 th August – 19 h October). Payment accepted from 11 th July

13 th October – Revolution Internal Championships (BIRMINGHAM)
Venue: Munrow Sports Centre, Birmingham
Intermediate gymnasts will perform set routines on floor, vault and bars. Advanced gymnasts will perform
voluntary routines on vaults, bars, beam/men’s apparatus and floor with skills being tariffed according to
their difficulty. They will aim to win apparatus medals and the overall champion title for their age band.
25 th October – Revolution Internal Championships Awards Presentation Evening
Venue: The Cadbury Club, Bournville
We have decided this year to hold an Awards Presentation Evening to celebrate the achievements of our
gymnasts. More details of where to obtain tickets from, prices and timings to follow.
RE-ENROLMENT: Course 13.4 (24 th October – 26 th January 2014). Payment accepted from 19 th
September.
DEADLINE: 5 th October
10 th November – Boys Novice Competition *Selection only by 6 th Oct
Venue: GMAC, Perry Barr, Birmingham (Provisional)
Gymnasts will get the chance to compete on all 6 men’s apparatus; vault, high bar, rings, P bars,
pommel horse and floor. Rules and awards info will be sent through later in the year.
17 th November – West Midlands Voluntary Floor & Vault Competition (STOKE)
Venue: Fenton Manor Sports Complex, City Road, Stoke-on-Trent ST4 2RR
Gymnasts will compete as part of a team, aiming to win an overall team medal and individual medal for
their age/ gender category. They will perform a voluntary floor routine (straight line) which is not currently
tariffed and twice on vault.
Cost: £5.00 – payment is due 20 th October
RE-ENROLMENT: Course 13.5 (February 2014 onwards). Payment accepted from 5 th Dec 2013
DEADLINE: 19 th January 2014
SESSION CHANGES
Saturday 4 th May - Session is only for those who are competing in the Birmingham Friendly
Competition.
Thursday 6 th June - Session is cancelled due to the WA’s Regional Squad training in the Hall.
Saturday 15th June - Session is only for those who are competing in the West Midlands Team
Championships.
Thursday 31st October - Session is cancelled due to the WA’s Regional Squad training in the Hall.
Saturday 16th November - Session is only for those competing in the West Midlands Voluntary
Competition.
19 th December 2013 – 4 th January 2014 – Xmas break!
