YOUNG PEOPLE'S HEALTH PROGRAM<br />
The objectives of research in the young people's health stream are to:<br />

advance the health <strong>and</strong> wellbeing of young people through an accessible, effective <strong>and</strong> responsive primary care<br />
workforce <strong>and</strong> system;<br />
explore issues affecting the health <strong>and</strong> wellbeing of young people in the community that are important to young people,<br />
parents <strong>and</strong> providers; <strong>and</strong><br />
design <strong>and</strong> test interventions that have potential to benefit the health <strong>and</strong> wellbeing of young people in the community.<br />

TEAM LEADER<br />
Dr Lena Sanci MB BS PhD DRANZCOG FRACGP leads the research program on young people's health in<br />
primary care. She currently has a large cluster r<strong>and</strong>omised trial in general practice underway testing the<br />
effectiveness of preventive health care for young people within a youth friendly practice system (PARTY<br />
project).<br />
RESEARCH FELLOWS<br />
Ms Brenda Grabsch BSc BSW GDipHumServRes&Eval is a research fellow <strong>and</strong> coordinator of the<br />
Prevention, Access <strong>and</strong> Risk Taking in Young People (PARTY) project. She has worked previously in<br />
counselling roles as well as in psycho-oncology research.<br />
Mr Andrew McCoy COTElect GDipDigCompEng MAppSc is a research fellow in the PARTY project who is<br />
working with staff in general practices to enhance their systems, practices <strong>and</strong> culture to facilitate youth<br />
friendly care. Andrew's research interests are organisations, the way people work together <strong>and</strong> the impact<br />
of subconscious processes in physical <strong>and</strong> Internet-based group settings.<br />
Ms Janelle Seymour BA MPubHlth is a research fellow <strong>and</strong> health economist working on the PARTY<br />
(Prevention, Access <strong>and</strong> Risk Taking in Young People) <strong>and</strong> PARTY II projects. Her research interests lie in<br />
applied economic evaluation, particularly in the context of complex interventions <strong>and</strong> complex systems.<br />
RESEARCH ASSISTANTS<br />
Ms Caroline Hart BSc is a research<br />
assistant working on the Prevention,<br />
Access <strong>and</strong> Risk Taking in Young<br />
People (PARTY) project as a field<br />
researcher. Caroline has an interest<br />
in qualitative research methods <strong>and</strong><br />
has previously worked in disability<br />
<strong>and</strong> mental health research roles.<br />
Ms Fan Yang BSc GDipStat is the<br />
data manager for the Prevention,<br />
Access <strong>and</strong> Risk Taking in Young<br />
People (PARTY) project. She has<br />
extensive experience in database<br />
programming, data cleaning, data<br />
manipulation <strong>and</strong> data analysis of<br />
large datasets.<br />
