Provided with quitting advice and referral by a general practitioner, by neighbourhood deprivation Current smokers aged 15–64 years living in the most deprived areas who had seen a GP in the past 12 months were more likely than those living in the less deprived areas to have been provided with quitting advice and referral by a GP in the past 12 months (Figure 57). These differences were only significant between NZDep2006 quintile 5 and NZDep2006 quintile 2 (p-value < 0.05).
