Asked smoking status by a health care worker, by neighbourhood deprivation<br />

People living in <strong>the</strong> most deprived areas (NZDep 2006 quintile 5) were significantly<br />

more likely to have been asked if <strong>the</strong>y had ever been or currently were a smoker by a<br />

health care worker in <strong>the</strong> past 12 months than those living in <strong>the</strong> least deprived areas<br />

(NZDep 2006 quintile 1), after adjusting for age (Figure 46).<br />
