Wolf Park is a unique research
and education facility located
just outside Battle Ground,
Indiana. Its hand-raised wolves,
foxes and coyote and its herd of
more than a dozen American
bison give visitors opportunities
available nowhere else:

This wolf is having a
relaxing “bow stretch” —
you can almost hear his
joints creaking.
Wolves “bow” for many
reasons. They may “play
bow” to invite another
wolf to chase them. They
also bow to prey animals,
such as bison, sometimes
leading people to believe
they are asking the bison
to play.
In reality, the bow is a
strategic position from
which a wolf can move
quickly in any direction —
a good position to be in
when you are facing 1500
pounds of angry bison!
