(i) Whenever a Stage Manager or Assistant Stage Manager has to travel on a<br />
sleeper bus, the Employer will pay said Stage Manager or Assistant Stage Manager an additional<br />
one-sixth (1/6 th ) <strong>of</strong> his/her weekly contracted salary.<br />
14. STAGE MANAGERS AND ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGERS<br />
A. STAGE MANAGER<br />
1. The Stage Manager shall not be required to function in areas not defined<br />
as the duties <strong>of</strong> the Stage Manager.<br />
2. Duties -The duties <strong>of</strong> the Stage Manager will be defined as follows:<br />
(a) The supervision <strong>of</strong> activities and personnel on the stage during all<br />
rehearsals and performances and technical calls;<br />
(b) Keeping records <strong>of</strong> attendance at all rehearsal and performances<br />
and give these records to the Artistic Director and/or Associate Artistic Director. Dancers will<br />
notify the Stage Manager or Assistant Stage Manager in a timely manner if they will be late or<br />
absent for rehearsal, costume fittings, half-hour or other related calls;<br />
(c) Distributing rehearsal and performance schedules, casting and<br />
other information as per the Artistic Director and/or Associate Artistic Director;<br />
(d) Scheduling Costume fittings and other production related<br />
appointments;<br />
(e) In conjunction with a Company Representative and Technical<br />
Director, attend all matters <strong>of</strong> safety affecting performers and technical personnel. The Stage<br />
Manager shall have the right to stop rehearsal, if in his/her judgment a safety hazard exists;<br />
(f) Cuing <strong>of</strong> new ballets and maintenance <strong>of</strong> cue sheets for all ballets<br />
in the current repertory;<br />
(g) The following may also be considered within the duties <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Stage Manager or Assistant Stage Manager on individual occasions: the focusing, placement and<br />
direction <strong>of</strong> lights, scenery, sound and properties.<br />
(h) It shall not be a condition <strong>of</strong> employment that any <strong>of</strong> the Stage<br />
Managerial Staff own or operate a motor vehicle.<br />
3. There shall be no less than one Stage Manager on an AGMA contract<br />
employed in each company and each production must be assigned an AGMA Stage Manager<br />
who shall be primarily responsible for the stage managerial functions.<br />
4. An Assistant Stage Manager is the individual who is assigned to assist or<br />
function as the Stage Manager(s) in all areas described as duties <strong>of</strong> the Stage Manager.<br />
5. Specific production assignments over and above what is referred to herein,<br />
shall be designated in the contract or by rider.<br />
