MEAL MONEY 1. Meal Money: On any day in which the Artist is required to be more than thirty (30) miles from the in-city departure point, the following amounts shall be paid as meal allowances. Payment of meal money will be paid at the same time as the weekly salary. The Employer shall pay all Artists the appropriate meal money allowance whether or not the airline provides meal service or snacks. 2. Sustenance Payment During Travel If an Artist under any type of employment contract is required to travel or be outside the city of origination, he shall be paid not less than the applicable meal money for each day (beginning at midnight and ending the following midnight) or part thereof, and Employer will provide and pay for hotel accommodations. Overseas and/or foreign meal money shall be negotiated and contracted on a separate overseas rider. The amount paid for overseas and/or foreign meal money may be reduced by $1.00 per day from the rate established by the U.S. State Department. 3. Cost of Living Adjustment: A cost of living adjustment will be recognized and implemented according to the following formula: (i) If the percentage increase in the Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Price Index, Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers, New Series of the City of New York, New York, in April, 2012 exceeds such Cost of Living Index for April, 2011 by greater than two (2%) percent, then all meal money rates specified in this Agreement shall be increased by such excess percentage over two (2%) percent not exceeding 6%, effective with the first pay period following July 1, 2012. (ii) If the percentage increase in the Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Price Index, Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers, New Series of the City of New York, New York, in April, 2013, exceeds such Cost of Living Index for April, 2012 by greater than two (2%) percent, then all meal money rates specified in this Agreement shall be increased by such excess percentage over two (2%) percent not exceeding 6%, effective with the first pay period following July 1, 2013. (iii) If the percentage increase in the Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Price Index, Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers, New Series of the City of New York, New York, in April, 2014, exceeds such Cost of Living Index for April, 2013 by greater than two (2%) percent, then all meal money rates specified in this Agreement shall be increased by such excess percentage over two (2%) percent not exceeding 6%, effective with the first pay period following July 1, 2014. H. MISCELLANEOUS COMPENSATION 1. Extraordinary Risk - The term “Extraordinary Risk” shall be applied to a performance or on-stage technical rehearsal or Dress Rehearsal which entails one or more of the following high risk feats for an Artist: 32
