At these companies, no business transactions ca-<br />
pable of materially affecting the Situation of Deut-<br />
sche <strong>Bank</strong> <strong>AG</strong> were registered. Business relations<br />
with these companies do not go beyond the normal<br />
services provided by the Group.<br />
Principles of consolidation<br />
The consolidated balance sheet and profit and<br />
loss account are based on the special sheet pub-<br />
lished for banks in the legal form of "Aktiengesell-<br />
schaft" (joint stock corporation). This sheet is sup-<br />
plemented by the typical items in mortgage bank<br />
business <strong>der</strong>iving from the special sheets for mort-<br />
gage banks and ship mortgage banks. The items re-<br />
lating to mortgage bank business also include the<br />
figures of Europäische Hypothekenbank <strong>der</strong> Deut-<br />
schen <strong>Bank</strong>, Luxembourg, insofar as the reporting<br />
criteria are fulfilled.<br />
The assets and Iiabilities of Lebensversicherungs-<br />
<strong>AG</strong> <strong>der</strong> <strong>Deutsche</strong>n <strong>Bank</strong> and the expenses and in-<br />
come typical of life insurance business are reported<br />
in Summary items after internal offsetting within the<br />
Group.<br />
The Consolidated Statement of Accounts was<br />
drawn up in accordance with the provisions of the<br />
Joint Stock Corporation Act of 1965 in the version in<br />
effect before the Balance Sheet Directives Act of 19.<br />
12.1985, while the individual statements of accounts<br />
of domestic Group companies were drawn up in ac-<br />
cordance with the provisions of the Commercial<br />
Code in the version as amended by the Balance<br />
Sheet Directives Act and those of foreign Group<br />
companies in accordance with the provisions in force<br />
in the respective country of domicile.<br />
The figures shown in the individual balance sheets<br />
were taken over unchanged into the Consolidated<br />
Balance Sheet unless, in individual cases, adjust-<br />
ments to German accounting provisions were re-<br />
quired. Interim statements as at 31. 12. 1989 were<br />
drawn up pursuant to Section 331 (3) Joint Stock Cor-<br />
poration Act (old version) for eight companies with a<br />
different financial year. Their structure, insofar as the<br />
