Presidential Address
Acting SAA, TM Sayed Mohammed, opened the meeting
at 8:20am. The SAA welcomed the audience to the meeting,
briefed the gathering about the Club and District missions of
TMI and mentioned the topics to avoid during the meeting.
TM Sayed thanked FOY TMC’s host for the venue, TM Dr.
Shankar.
Our President TM Chandrashekar shared the secret of one
of his suits, his wedding suit, which dates back to May
1995. After a long gap of 17 years, our dear President had
the occasion to wear his suit again, in July 2012, when he
became the SAA at FOY and started wearing suits at all the
meetings. For our President, the FOY stage has been
magical and this stage has been a turning point in his life.

Prepared Speeches Session
TM Sonali, true to her English Maestro title, always knows how to teach us
new words and make sure we use them. This time, the word was ‘Verve’ which
is a noun meaning enthusiasm or vigor, full of energy.
A brief round robin session was conducted during which the word was used 5
times. We know the word will be remembered when it is used by almost all
role players during the meeting.

Project 6 - Vocal Variety CC Manual by TM Rajesh
Here comes the new generation of Rajnikant at FOY, TM Rajesh
surely knows how to make us laugh with his personal stories. This
time the speaker attempted a project on vocal variety narrating
his experience at the mall with his loved one who has so much
stamina when shopping, and their visits at the mall usually last
hours and hours. Our poor Rajnikant is soooo tired to the point
that at the mall he sees mirages of benches and chairs...
Project 3 - Speaking to Inform Adv. Man. by TM Lisbella
The Art of Ikebana... How interesting, refreshing and enriching!
The speaker introduced the Japanese art of flower
arrangement. In her demonstration, we got to know the
basics of this disciplined art form in which nature and
humanity are brought together. The live demo was well
organized and the speaker made sure all the audience was
able to see and understand her.
Project 3 - Technical Presentations by TM Jaideep
Area 20 elect, TM Jaideep’s speech was so much more than a
technical presentation, the speaker educated us and gave us tips
on how to have a great life referring to the ‘Unconventional
Strategies for a Great Life’ of Shivakumara. The advanced
speaker briefly elaborated on all the strategies... a message well
perceived by the Yogis. Thank you TM Jaideep for such an
choosing FOY to deliver such an enlightening speech!

Evaluation Session headed by TM Murugesh
Evaluation for Speech #3 by TM Sebastian
TM Sebastian was proud to be evaluating TM Jaideep’s speech. The
evaluator recommended the speaker to conduct an educational session
on the topic he presented. A suggestion to the speaker was to use less
powerpoint materials, should only be 20% of PPT and 80% of the
speech, not the opposite.
Evaluation for Speech #1 by TM Saju
TM Saju enjoyed the verve in TM Rajesh’s speech. The personal
experience, story, use of humor, the voice were remarkable. One area
to review could have been the opening to be more attention grabbing.
TM Saju appreciated the cool, calm and collected speaker.
Evaluation for Speech #2 by TM Sashi
TM Sashi referred to the activity presented by the speaker as a
precious one which brought a lot of verve in the audience. TM Sashi
thanked the speaker for introducing this new concept. The
demonstration and details were impeccable as visible and
understandable to all. The evaluator wished the speaker would have
utilized all the allocated speaking time for such a topic.

focus on is ‘TIMING’. As Toastmasters
we are supposed to be exemplary in
time management. We are failing! TM
Murugesh gave feedbacks to each role
players. TM Murugesh acknowledged that all the speeches had a
take home value. Our General Evaluator liked the way the TT
session was conducted. Our GE also suggested that the new
EXCOM reconsider starting at 8am.
