A los niños pequeños les es muy difícil controlar<br />

sus emociones. Cuando se sientes frustrados o<br />

furiosos, lloran, gritan o tiran patadas fuertes<br />

contra el piso. Esto es un berrinche.<br />

Estas rabietas son una parte normal del<br />

desarrollo del niño. Suelen comenzar entre los 12<br />

y 18 meses de edad y empeoran entre los 2<br />

y 3 años. Los berrinches van desapareciendo<br />

cuando los niños aprenden a usar mejor las<br />

palabras para comunicarse.<br />

Mantenga la calma. La ola gigantesca de<br />

emociones pasará. No se hunda en ella ni<br />

forme parte de la tormenta.<br />

Dele un abrazo al niño o cárguelo.<br />

A veces ayuda darles un abrazo apretado.<br />

Vaya a un lugar tranquilo. Cambie de<br />

habitación. Cambie de escenario. Salga<br />

del lugar si es posible.<br />

Ignore el berrinche pero no se aleje.<br />

Deje que se canse. Luego bríndele su<br />

apoyo. Cambie de actividad.<br />

Sugiera algo nuevo.<br />

¿Q U É ES “ N O R M A L ?”<br />

Los berrinches son comunes. Son una parte normal<br />

del desarrollo del niño. La mayoría de los niños entre<br />

1 y 4 años los tienen.<br />

Los niños pequeños desafían las reglas una y otra<br />

vez.<br />

Compartir no es fácil.<br />

Los niños pequeños necesitan muchas<br />

actividades divertidas para mantenerse<br />

ocupados y felices.<br />

WHAT ARE<br />

TANTRUMS?<br />

Young children have a hard time<br />

controlling their emotions. When<br />

they get frustrated or angry they cry,<br />

scream or throw strong kicks against<br />

the floor. This is a tantrum.<br />

These tantrums are a normal part of<br />

child development. They usually start<br />

between 12 and 18 months of age<br />

and worse between 2 and 3 years.<br />

Tantrums disappear when children<br />

learn to use words to communicate.<br />

5 TANTRUM TIPS<br />

Keep Calm. The tidal wave of<br />

emotions will pass. Do not sink into it or<br />

be apart of the storm.<br />

Give the child a hug or carry him/her.<br />

Sometimes it helps to give them a tight hug.<br />

Go to a quiet place. switch<br />

rooms. Change the scenery. Leave the area<br />

if possible.<br />

Ignore the tantrum but do not stray.<br />

Let them get tired. Then give your child<br />

support. Change the activity.<br />

Suggest something new.<br />

Tantrums are common. They are a normal<br />

part of child development. Most children<br />

between 1 and 4 years have.<br />

Young children defy the rules again and<br />

again.<br />

Sharing is not easy.<br />

Young children need many fun activities<br />

to keep them busy and happy.<br />

Teach them to behave, talk and share.<br />

And goodbye tantrums !!
