Un sargento de un batallón de los EEUU 

insultaba y reprendía fuertemente a los 

soldados, que no podían sacar un vehículo 

atascado en el lodo. En ese momento se 

presentó un señor de figura alta y delgada. 

Observó la situación y preguntó al sargento 

porque no ayudaba a los soldados. 

- Por qué he de hacerlo? Yo soy el sargento, 

contestó con altanería. Sin pérdida de tiempo, 

el hombre recién llegado, alto y delgado, se 

quitó la chaqueta y se unió a los soldados en 

la dura meta de sacar el vehículo del lodo en 

que estaba sumergido. Terminada la tarea, ese 

hombre se lavó las manos en un pozo de agua, 

se puso la chaqueta y le dijo al sargento:- 

Cuando usted necesite de mi ayuda, le ruego 

llamarme, que con mucho gusto le ayudaré. 

- Y quién es usted? - le preguntó el sargento: 

- Yo soy Abraham Lincoln, presidente de esta 

Nación. Una cosa es ser jefe y otra ser 

líder. "Los buenos líderes primero deben 

convertirse en buenos servidores".

I am Abraham Lincoln, President of this nation. 

One thing to be a boss and another is being 

a leader. "Good leaders must 

first become good servants."

Crescencio López-González dice: “Nací y 

crecí en un pequeño pueblo de Tierra 

Caliente del Estado de Guerrero, México. 

La Sierra Madre del Sur y el cerro del 

Águila fueron los primeros horizontes que 

en mi niñez aprendí a caminar. A los seis 

años, mi madre me consiguió mi primer 

trabajo como pastor de chivas, las cuales 

pasteaba antes y después de clases. En 

mi pueblo había muchos jóvenes que 

cuidaban chivas y para no perderlas, 

recuerdo que le pedí a mi madre que le 

pintara los cuernos rojos a las mías. 

Algunos vecinos se burlaban, diciendo que 

iba a pastear diablillos. A través de mi 

infancia y juventud, la escuela resultó ser 

el refugio a los largos días de trabajo, pues 

como era el mayor de la familia, el trabajo 

me seguía a todas partes. Los fines de 

semana los pasaba cortando leña para que 

mi madre hiciera fuego y así poder cocinar. 

Durante la temporada de siembra, 

ayudaba a mi padre a labrar la tierra. 

Cuando cumplí los dieciséis años y terminé 

la escuela secundaria, mis padres me 

dijeron que no podrían ayudarme a 

continuar con mis estudios. La noticia 

devastó todos mis anhelos. Me había 

graduado con buenas calificaciones, pero 

mis padres no tenían dinero y no había 

más que discutir. Ese verano de 1986 

el destino me tenía reservada una jugada. 

Un amigo de la escuela me invitó a trabajar 

al extranjero y acepté, sin saber 

absolutamente nada. 

Me tomó varios días para convencer a 

mis padres, quienes consiguieron dinero 

y me compraron un boleto de tren, de 

Guadalajara a Mexicali. Con dos cambios 

de ropa y la bendición de mis padres, 

llegué al fértil y hermoso Valle de Salinas. 

Comencé trabajando en la pizca de la uva 

al día siguiente de haber llegado. Esa 

misma semana decidí asistir a clases de 

noche a aprender inglés en una escuela 

para adultos. Al ver mis ansias por 

aprender, la maestra me habló de la 

escuela preparatoria que estaba a 30 

millas de distancia. Para ese entonces, 

vivía en Soledad, un pequeño pueblo rural 

que para mí en aquel momento 

representaba la gran ciudad. Pagaba 

treinta dólares al mes en un apartamento 

de dos cuartos, y en él llegamos habitar 

hasta diecinueve personas. Cuando el 

trabajo temporal se escaseó, me matriculé 

en la escuela preparatoria en donde mis 

consejeros me colocaron en el programa 

de “inglés como segundo idioma”. 

Durante los cuatro años de preparatoria, 

trabajé en el campo durante los veranos, 

inviernos y algunos fines de semana. Con 

el tiempo logré avanzar en mis estudios y 

me gradué de Gonzales Union High School 

siendo el número nuevePor más inspiración que uno tenga, horas trabajamos en el

porque sus programas académicos 

reflejaban mis intereses que en aquél 

entonces más me importaban. Me inscribí 

en clases de ingeniería y literatura, 

siguiendo los consejos de mis consejeros. 

Las clases de matemáticas absorbían la 

mayor parte de mi tiempo, en cambio las 

de literatura sólo bastaba con asistir a las 

clases y hacer las lecturas para obtener 

buenas calificaciones. Las clases de 

cultura hispana comenzaron a despertar 

en mí curiosidades enajenadas, que poco 

a poco me ayudaron a descubrir mi 

identidad y propósito en la vida. Las obras 

de Juan Rulfo, Octavio Paz, Jorge Luis 

Borges y Carlos Fuentes me hicieron sentir 

parte de la historia de este mundo. 

Además, tomé cursos con reconocidos 

profesores mexicoamericanos como 

Francisco X. Alarcón y José Montoya, a 

quienes atribuyo el amor al arte. Mi 

primeros dos años en la universidad fueron 

un periodo de crecimiento personal y al 

mismo tiempo encontré en mí una aguda 

afinación por la literatura. Me gradué de la 

Universidad de California, Davis recibiendo 

un Bachillerato en Artes. Ya para ese 

entonces, yo sabía que quería continuar 

con los estudios de posgrado. Fue así que 

decidí inscribirme en la Universidad Estatal 

de Sacramento, Ca. para continuar con la 

maestría. En dos años y medio obtuve la 

Maestría en Literatura, teniendo siempre 

en mente que el doctorado estaba a la 

vuelta de la esquina. Sin embargo, la 

cuadra a veces es muy larga y surgen 

nuevas veredas que se tienen que 

sobrepasar. Los estudios han sido un 

privilegio para mí, pero también he tenido 

que pagar un precio muy caro para 

obtenerlos. He sacrificado el 

cariño de mis padres, mis 

amigos y mi tierra natal. Con el 

trascurrir de los años, aprendí 

a no pensar en los obstáculos 

que he enfrentado y ahora 

cuando pienso en ellos, el 

corazón me castiga y mi cuerpo 

se rompe en mil sollozos. La 

pobreza es quizás el obstáculo 

más grande que he tenido que 

sobrepasar. El hambre a 

veces la puede uno engañar, 

pero la pobreza no, porque 

cuando no se tiene dinero para 

comprar los libros de la escuela, una 

impotencia enorme te congela el espíritu 

y tu habilidad por competir se anula. Tanto 

en la preparatoria como en la universidad, 

nunca tuve a quien llamar para que me 

ayudaran económicamente y la verdad es 

que no me quiero acordar cómo fue que 

sobreviví esos años, solo sé que fue la 

pobreza. 

En el verano de 1988 trabajé 

arduamente en el campo y ahorré más de 

$800 para finalmente regresarme a mi 

pueblo. Había planeado regresar durante 

las fiestas de diciembre, pero una segunda 

jugada me tenía el destino. Un compañero 

y paisano del pueblo me robó el dinero. 

Él se regresó al pueblo y yo me quedé 

soñando con retornar. Ese diciembre, 

las Fiestas de Navidad me las pasé 

sembrando apio, por más de veinticuatro 

más tristes de mi vida. La hermana del 

que me robó el dinero decidió darme una 

carta de trabajo, la cual había comprado 

por veinte dólares al hijo del empleador, 

quien necesitaba dinero para mantener su 

adicción. El siguiente mes, 29 de enero de 

1989, entregué la solicitud a inmigración. 

Debido a que las oficinas de inmigración 

en Salinas ya habían cerrado, nos fuimos 

a entregarla a San José. Antes de llegar a 

San José, el cofre del carro se levantó y 

por poco nos accidentamos. Llegamos a 

las oficinas de inmigración sin parabrisas, 

pero después de un par de horas, salí de 

ahí con mi tarjeta rosa y no verde como me 

la había imaginado. Regresé de San José 

con la mano en la bolsa, el aire no lo sentí, 

había ganado la segunda jugada. 

Este verano finalmente tuve el valor de 

devolver más de treinta libros que no 

había regresado a la biblioteca. Por mucho 

tiempo sentí vergüenza y no los devolvía 

porque representaban el lujo que nunca 

tuve. Antes de devolverlos, me saqué fotos 

con ellos, quería recordarlos, quería 

decirles que estaba agradecido con ellos, 

les pedí disculpas por haberlos llevado 

conmigo, quiero pensar que sus 

personajes me entendieron. Entre ellos 

estaba el Llano en llamas de Juan Rulfo, la 

Muerte de Artemio Cruz de Carlos Fuentes 

y Maten al León de Jorge Ibargüengoitia. 

A todos me los llevé a la Universidad de 

Arizona, en donde estudié el doctorado. En 

julio del 2012 empecé un nuevo empleo. 

Esta vez como profesor de la Universidad 

Estatal de Utah. Mi meta ahora es publicar 

un libro sobre los inmigrantes que vienen a 

este país a superar la pobreza. Las 

experiencias adversas que he vivido junto 

con mis triunfos académicos, me han 

preparado para hablar de la comunidad 

latina. Los 54 millones de hispanos que 

vivimos en este país son una fuerza 

no sólo de esperanza, sino también 

de t ransformación p olítica, 

económica y social. La comunidad 

siempre ha estado ahí para 

apoyarme y por eso, siempre he 

creído en la fuerza de la comunidad. 

Yo podré caer, pero la comunidad 

continuará de pie. Las nueve becas 

que recibí cuando me gradué de la 

preparatoria continúan siendo parte 

importante en mi vida. Y si tuviera 

que hablarle a la comunidad, yo le 

diría que tengan fe en los sueños de 

los jóvenes porque en ellos habita la 

esperanza de la comunidad. No sé si en 

mi vida ha existido algo que verdaderamente 

me haya inspirado. Lo que sí sé es 

que siempre he tenido miedo de fracasar, 

especialmente cuando sé que con trabajo, 

casi todo se puede lograr. Algunas veces 

he dicho y creo que es verdad, que la 

disciplina del trabajo me la enseñó mi 

madre. Por más inspiración que uno tenga, 

sin la disciplina, poco se puede lograr. 

Y todo eso empieza en el hogar. 

Realmente la historia de Crescencio, nos 

inspira y motiva grandemente a todos, 

además, sorprendente la manera que tiene 

de escribir, el es un gran escritor, Para 

Paloma Revista es un honor felicitarlo, 

por la gran fortaleza, superación y logros, 

lógicamente el es Nuestro Orgullo Hispano 

por siempre.

Crescencio López-González says: "I was 

born and raised in a small town in Tierra 

Caliente Guerrero, Mexico. The Sierra 

Madre del Sur and Cerro del Águila were 

the first horizons of my childhood and 

where I learned to walk. At six years old, 

my mother got me my first job as a pastor 

of goats, which I did before and after 

school. In my town there were many young 

boys who took care of 

goats, and to not lose the 

goats, I remember asking 

my mother to paint the 

horns red on mine. Some 

neighbors mocked me, saying I would look 

after devils. Throughout my childhood and 

youth, school proved to be the shelter after 

long working days. As the eldest of the 

family, work followed me everywhere. 

Weekends were spent chopping wood for 

my mother to make fire so she could cook. 

During the planting season, I helped my 

father to work the land. When I turned 

sixteen and finished high school, my 

parents told me they could not help me to 

continue my studies. The news devastated 

all my hopes. I had graduated with good 

grades, but my parents had no money and 

no more were to be discussed. That 

summer of 1986 fate had a play in stored 

for me. A friend from school invited me to 

work in the United States and I agreed, 

not knowing anything. 

It took me several days to convince my 

parents, who got the money to buy a train 

ticket from Guadalajara to Mexicali. With 

two sets of clothes and a blessing from my 

parents, I came to the fertile and beautiful 

Salinas Valley. I started working picking 

grapes the day after I arrived. That same 

week I decided to attend night classes to 

learn English at a school for adults. Seeing 

my eagerness to learn, the teacher told me 

that high school was 30 miles away. By 

then, I lived in Soledad; a small rural town, 

which for me at that time represented the 

city. I paid thirty dollars a month for a 

two-bedroom apartment, and up to 

nineteen people lived there at one point. 

When the temporary work was scarce, 

I enrolled in high school where counselors 

placed me in the program “English as a 

Second Language”. During those four 

years of high school, I worked in the fields 

during the summer, winter and some 

weekends. Eventually I managed to get my 

education and graduate from Gonzales 

Union High School ranked 9 th out of a class 

of 170 students. Upon graduation, the 

community helped me with nine 

scholarships, ranging from $100 to $500. 

For me these grants represented the effort 

of an entire community that believed in me 

and I was not going to disappoint them. 

I applied to three Universities of 

California and I was admitted to all three. 

I chose the University of California, Davis 

for their academic programs. I enrolled in 

engineering classes and literature, as 

advised by my advisors. Math classes 

absorbed most of my time, however in 

literature classes, it was enough to attend 

lectures and do the readings to get good 

grades. Hispanic culture classes began to 

dawn in me alienated curiosities, which 

gradually helped me find my identity and 

purpose in life. The works of Juan Rulfo, 

Octavio Paz, Jorge Luis Borges and Carlos 

Fuentes made me feel part of the history 

of this world. Also, I took courses with 

renowned Mexican teachers Francisco X. 

Alarcón and José Montoya, whom I 

attribute, my love of art. My first two years 

in college were a period of personal growth 

and at the same time I found a sharp

University of California; Davis with a 

Bachelor of Arts. By this time, 

I knew I wanted to continue onto 

graduate school. I decided to 

enroll in the California State 

University of Sacramento, to 

continue my masters. In two and 

a half years I got my MA in 

Literature and I always had in 

mind that the doctorate was just 

around the corner. 

H o w e v e r , 

sometimes a block 

is very long with new 

paths to overcome. 

Being able to study has been 

a privilege for me, but I also had 

to pay a high price for this. I 

sacrificed the love of my parents, 

my friends and my native land. As 

the years passed, I learned not to 

think about the obstacles I have faced and 

now when I think of them, the heart 

punishes me and my body breaks into a 

thousand pieces. Poverty is perhaps the 

biggest obstacle I’ve had to overcome. 

Hunger sometimes we can deceive it, but 

you can’t deceive poverty because when 

you have no money to buy schoolbooks, a 

huge impotence freezes your spirit and 

your ability to compete is void. Both in high 

school and college, I never had anyone to 

call to help me financially and the truth is 

that I don’t want to remember how I 

survived those years; I just know it was 

poverty. 

In the summer of 1988, I worked hard 

in the fields and saved over $800 to finally 

go back to visit my family. I had planned to 

return during the December holidays, 

destiny changed it all. A fellow countryman 

stole my money. He returned to the village 

I was dreaming of going back to. That 

December, I spent Christmas planting 

celery. After more than a day working in 

the field, the contractor brought us food in 

the morning to encourage us to continue 

working. The next week we got paid in 

cash, the full eight hours, perhaps he 

discounted the food he had bought us, but 

what I do know from this is that those were 

the saddest Christmas days of my life. The 

sister of the man who stole the money 

decided to give me a letter of employment, 

which she had bought for twenty dollars 

from an employer's son, who needed 

money to support his addiction. The 

following month, January 29, 1989, I 

turned in an immigration application. Since 

the immigration offices in Salinas had 

closed, we went to San Jose to deliver the 

forms. Before arriving to San Jose, the 

hood of the car popped up and we had a 

minor accident. We arrived at the 

immigration offices with no windshield, but 

after a couple of hours, I walked out of 

those offices with my pink card and it was 

not green, as I had imagined it. I went back 

to San Jose with my hand in my pocket, 

and I didn’t feel the air as I felt I had won 

the second play. 

This summer I finally had the courage 

to return more than thirty books I had not 

returned to the library. For a long time 

I felt shame for not having returned them 

because they represented the luxury I 

never had. Before returning them, I took 

pictures with them, I wanted to remember 

them, I wanted to tell them I was grateful, 

I asked for forgiveness for having 

brought them with me, I like to think their 

characters understood. Among them were 

the Llano en llamas by Juan Rulfo, Death 

of Artemio Cruz by Carlos Fuentes and 

Jorge Kill the Lion Ibargüengoitia. And I 

took all of them to the University of 

Arizona, where I studied the doctorate. 

In July 2012, I started a new job as a 

professor at Utah State University. My goal 

now is to publish a book about immigrants 

coming to this country to escape poverty. 

The adverse experiences I have had along 

with my academic achievements have 

prepared me to talk about the Latino 

community. The 54 million Hispanics living 

in this country are not only a force of hope, 

but also of political, economic and social 

transformation. 

The community has always been there to 

support me and therefore, I have always 

believed in the power of the community. 

I may fall, but the community will continue 

to stand. The nine scholarships that I 

received when I graduated from high 

school are still an important part of my life. 

And if I had to talk to the community, I 

would tell them to have faith in the dreams 

of young people because in them the hope 

of the community resides. I don’t know if 

there has been something or someone that 

has truly inspired me in my life. What I do 

know is that I've always been afraid to fail, 

especially when I know that with hard 

work, almost anything can be 

accomplished. Sometimes I have said this 

and I believe this to be true, that my 

mother taught me the discipline to work. 

With only inspiration and without discipline 

very little can be achieved. All of this 

begins at home. 

The story of Crescencio really inspires and 

motivates us all greatly also it is surprising 

how he writes, he's a great writer, for 

Paloma Magazine It is an honor to 

congratulate him for the great strength, 

improvement and achievement, logically 

he is Our Orgullo Hispano forever.

Las 7 claves para hablar en público 

El miedo a hablar en público uno de 

los temores más extendidos en 

la sociedad, a muchas personas les 

cuesta hablar en una audiencia y 

transmitir de forma convincente sus 

ideas. Aquí les presentamos 

7 claves para hablar en público, 

ya sea en un examen, en una 

presentación, en la comunidad, 

en una reunión o celebración. 

1.Organízate: Si tu miedo es a 

quedarte en blanco, lleva notas, si 

es a que no te funcionen los medios 

audiovisuales, lleva un plan B, es 

decir, si se trata de cosas que 

realmente pueden pasar, toma las 

medidas necesarias para reducir 

esa posibilidad al mínimo. 

2.La introducción: Los primeros 

segundos son muy importantes para 

causar una buena impresión: 

- Preséntate con un par de frases 

que te sepas de memoria. 

- Busca una frase o cita celebre 

que tenga que ver con el tema: así 

rompes el hielo y consigues la 

atención de todos. 

- Si no te sientes capaz, puedes 

utilizar un video como introducción, 

así los primeros minutos no tienes 

que hablar y tus nervios se irán 

calmando sin que te des cuenta. 

La introducción, elijas la modalidad 

que elijas, tendrás que ensayarla un 

montón de veces, es la mejor forma 

de que salga bien. 

3.Memorizar: Cuanto mejor te lo 

sepas, menos nervios tendrás: Si es 

un tema que dominas, mejor. Además, 

ensaya y visualízate haciendo 

la charla. La visualización, según 

estudios realizados con deportistas 

funciona, en gran medida, como el 

entrenamiento. 

4.Corrigete: Si te da un ataque de 

pánico en medio de charla respira, 

mira tus notas, bebe agua y sonríe. 

Luego retoma tu charla a un ritmo 

lento. Verás como en seguida todo 

vuelve a fluir. 

5.Seguridad: “Muestra tu 

seguridad” No se te ocurra jamás 

decir frases del tipo: “Ay qué 

nervioso estoy” “Me he perdido” 

o “Me he equivocado”. ¡No! 

Si te pierdes, te equivocas o estás 

nervioso, te lo callas, es muy 

probable que no se hayan dado 

cuenta, ¡no se lo hagas notar tú, 

lleven sus notas en una tarjeta, 

nunca en un portafolio, porque si 

estás nervioso y te tiemblan las 

manos con el movimiento, todo el 

mundo estará más pendiente de 

tus nervios que de lo que dices. 

6.Engáñate ¡Funciona!: Olvídate 

de ellos, haz como si no existieran. 

Parecerá una tontería pero es el 

mejor remedio contra los nervios.

many people have difficulty speaking 

for an audience convincingly

7 Keys to speak in public,

1.Organíze: If your fear is to stay

por muchos críticos 

como la más excelsa 

poeta nacida en 

Puerto Rico. Fue también 

partidaria de la independencia 

de la isla. a vida de Julia de 

Burgos fue intensa y 

definitivamente breve, aunque 

sin duda esta escritora 

puertorriqueña dejó un legado 

indispensable para la poesía. 

Nació en 1914, en el seno de 

una familia muy humilde; fue 

la única de trece hermanos en 

realizar estudios secundarios. 

Se graduó como maestra en 

la Universidad y comenzó a 

trabajar, realizando actividades sociales. En La 

Habana estudió griego, latín y francés . Fue una activa 

promotora de la liberación de la mujer; a los 22 años de 

edad se unió al grupo Hijas de la libertad del Partido 

Nacionalista de su país, y estuvo a cargo del discurso La 

mujer ante el dolor de la Patria. En el año 1940 tuvo una 

experiencia muy positiva en Nueva York, donde recibió el 

merecido reconocimiento por su trabajo; tristemente, 

trece años más tarde Julia se dejó ahogar por el alcohol, 

presa de depresión, esta misma ciudad enterró su 

c u e r p o e n u n a t u m b a a n ó n i m a . 

Burgos publicó dos poemarios y dio a conocer varias 

poesías sueltas; tras su fallecimiento, se editaron 

algunos libros más. La fuerza y profundidad tan 

particulares de esta brillante poetisa se pueden apreciar 

en "El mar y tú", "Poema perdido en pocos versos" y "Yo 

fui la más callada". Por otro lado, son también de su 

autoría los dramas cortos "Llamita quiere ser mariposa", 

"Paisaje marino" y "Coplas jíbaras para ser 

cantadas".El 19 de febrero de 1987 el Departamento de 

Español del Recinto de Humacao de la Universidad de 

Puerto Rico la homenajeó concediéndole un póstumo 

doctorado Honoris Causa en Letras y Humanidades. 

La ciudad de San Juan ha homenajeado su memoria 

nombrando escuelas y avenidas en su nombre. Existe 

también en San Juan la "Casa Protectora Julia de 

Burgos", que protege a mujeres sobrevivientes de 

violencia doméstica, y el Museo de Artes y Ciencias Julia 

de Burgos. La ciudad de Nueva York la ha homenajeado 

también con un "Centro Latino Julia de Burgos" 

en Manhattan y un "Centro de Arte Julia de Burgos" 

en Harlem, cercano al lugar de su muerte. La poeta 

neoyorquina Giannina Braschi homenajeó a Julia de 

Burgos en su celebrada novela bilingue "Yo-Yo Boing!" 

y Tomas Batista esculpió un busto de ella, el cual adorna 

el parque Julia de Burgos en Carolina. 

Julia Burgos (Julia Constancia Burgos García),born in 

Carolina, Puerto Rico is considered by many critics as the 

most exalted poet born in Puerto Rico. It was also in favor 

of the independence of the island. a life of Julia de Burgos 

was definitely intense and brief, but certainly this Puerto 

Rican writer left a vital legacy for poetry. Born in 1914 in 

the midst of a very poor family; only one of thirteen 

children in realizing secondary education. She 

graduated as a teacher in college and started working, 

doing social activities. In Havana she studied Greek, Latin 

and French. She was an active promoter of women's 

liberation; at 22 years old she joined the group Daughters 

of Liberty of the Nationalist Party of her country, and was in 

charge of speech The woman at the pain of the country. In 

1940 she had a very positive experience in New York, 

where she received the deserved recognition for her work; 

sadly, thirteen years later Julia was left to drown in alcohol, 

dam of depression , this city buried her body in an 

unmarked grave. Burgos published two books and released 

several single poems; after her death, some more book 

were published. The strength and depth from tis brilliant 

poet can be seen in "The Sea and You", "lost in a few verses 

Poem" and "I was the quietest." On the other hand, are also 

some of her own short dramas "Llamita wants to be a 

butterfly", "Seascape" and "Jivaro couplets to be sung" . 

February 19, 1987 the Department of Spanish Humacao 

Campus of the University of Puerto Rico's honored granting 

a posthumous honorary doctorate of Humane Letters. 

The city of San Juan has honored her memory by naming 

schools and streets on her behalf. Also available in San 

Juan "House Humane Julia de Burgos", which protects 

women survivors of domestic violence, and the Museum of 

Arts and Sciences Julia de Burgos. The city of New York has 

also honored her with a "Julia de Burgos Latino Center" in 

Manhattan and an "Art Center Julia de Burgos" in Harlem,

Conoce + Qué significa Revolución? 

Revolución por definición tiene siete 

significados, estos son: 1.f. Acción y 

efecto de revolver o revolverse. 

2.f. Cambio violento en las 

instituciones políticas, económicas o 

sociales de una nación. 

3.f. Inquietud, alboroto, sedición. 

4. f. Cambio rápido y profundo en 

cualquier cosa. 5.f. Astr. Movimiento 

de un astro a lo largo de una órbita 

completa. 6.f. Geom. Rotación de 

una figura alrededor de un eje, que 

configura un sólido o una superficie. 

7.f. Mec. Giro o vuelta que da una 

pieza sobre su eje. 

En esencia el significado de esta 

palabra es movimiento. Es este 

movimiento, en esta acción de 

revolver las cosas, también se 

implica pedirle un cambio a las 

instituciones. Bueno, qué tiene que 

suceder para que el pueblo diga, 

“Basta ya! esto no es justo.” Según 

Hanah Arendt, el momento en el cual 

un pueblo se levanta y exige cambio 

es cuando, este gobierno ya no 

satisface las necesidades de la gente, 

o cuando la corrupción e injusticia 

del gobierno es intolerable. Nos dice 

también Arendt que la gente cree 

tener justicia y democracia cuando 

tiene acceso a un pedazo de pan y 

techo al igual que paz en su 

comunidad. El momento que esto 

cambia, el momento que la gente 

siente vivir una injusticia es cuando 

el pan es solo para pocos y cuando 

acceso a un techo no es posible. 

Claro, también quizá lo más 

importante es cuando la gente siente 

que su gobierno no le esta 

cumpliendo su deber, esto es sin 

importar estatus legal, documentado 

o indocumentado. El deber del 

gobierno a su gente es proveer una 

buena calidad de vida y mantener un 

estándar justo de la ley en el cual 

todos los derechos de todo sector de 

la sociedad son protegidos. 

El momento que esto no se cumple 

es el momento en el cual el pueblo 

toma conciencia de esta injusticia. 

Esto llega a convertirse en el 

momento clave, en el momento 

peligroso para un gobierno ya que en 

este momento el pueblo se 

despierta, toma conciencia y dice, 

“esto no es justo, esto no está bien.” 

La gente, llena de rabia e ira sala a 

las calles, gritando y exigiendo un 

cambio, exigiendo una revolución del 

poder, un nuevo acuerdo entre la 

gente y su gobierno ya que el actual 

no sirve, no esta del lado de la gente. 

Como resultado, el gobierno dirá que 

los que salen a las calles son los 

malos, son los desobedientes cuando 

en realidad para el gobierno estos 

son los peligrosos ya que atentan 

contra su poder y su orden que le 

favorece a unos pocos, a los ricos y 

no a la gente que exige el cambio, 

que exige la revolución de poder, que 

exige re-acomodar el acuerdo social 

con su gobierno. Esto, el cambio, la 

revolución es algo natural, es algo 

inevitable para todo organismo 

político, pero claro esta que el 

gobierno no quiere que su gente 

sepa esto.

order for the people to say, "Enough! 

This is not fair.” According Hanah 

Arendt, the moment in which people 

rise up and demand change it is 

when a government can no longer 

meet the needs of its people, or 

when the corruption and injustice of 

this government is intolerable. Arendt 

also tells us that people believe they 

have justice and democracy when 

they have access to a piece of bread 

and shelter, as well as, peace in their 

community. The moment this 

changes, it is when people 

experience injustice, which translates 

to bread is only available for a select 

few and access to a roof is nearly 

impossible. Perhaps, people demand 

change when they feel their 

government is not fulfilling their 

duty, regardless of the legal status 

of these people, documented or 

undocumented. The government 

must provide access to good quality 

of life, uphold a fair stander of the 

law in which, the rights of all sectors 

of society are protected. 

The moment this does not happen 

becomes the moment people gain 

consciousness of the injustice 

around them. This becomes a key 

point, a dangerous moment for 

government because in this moment 

of awareness it is when the people 

wake up and say, "This is not fair, this 

is not right." People moved by rage 

and anger go out to the streets, 

screaming, demanding change, 

demanding a reordering of power, 

demanding a new agreement 

between the people and their 

government since the current one 

does not work. The government to 

this will respond and say these 

people in the streets are bad and 

disobedient. They will say these 

people are dangerous because they 

undermine the power and order of 

the government and accuse the 

government of favoring the rich. 

Thus, those people, the disobedient 

demand change, and a revolution of 

power in order rearrange the social 

contract with their government. All 

governments know change is natural, 

a revolution is inevitable since it is 

part of the natural process of a 

political organism, but clearly, the 

people are not supposed to 

know this.

EL SANTO ROSARIO 

Has pensado ¿por qué adorna un rosario, 

tu casa, tu buró, el espejo de tu coche o 

tu cuello? Es un instrumento PODEROSO 

y bellísimo para rezar a la Virgen. 

¿PARA QUÉ REZAMOS EL ROSARIO ? 

El rezo del Rosario tiene 3 fines: 

a) Es un ACTO DE AMOR: Una manera de 

decirle a María, tu Madre del cielo, que le 

amas, le respetas, le agradeces que sea 

tu madre. Piensa que cada vez que rezas 

el Rosario le entregas a la Virgen un 

ramo de rosas. 

b) Es un ACTO DE REPARACIÓN: Es decir, 

un modo de reparar las ofensas que tú y 

los otros hombres han hecho a Dios. 

Es como cuando ofendes a alguien que 

quieres mucho y después le envías una 

flor, un chocolate o un recado para 

hacerle sentir que te dolió ofenderle y 

que lo quieres mucho. Este acto es más 

bonito que simplemente pedir perdón. 

c) Es un MEDIO DE APOSTOLADO: Esto 

significa que a través de la oración tú 

puedes pedir a la Virgen que interceda a 

Dios por muchas cosas: por la Iglesia, los 

sacerdotes, el Papa, los enfermos, los 

que sufren; por la conversión de los 

pecadores, la unidad familiar, las 

guerras. Por todo aquello que quisieras 

ayudar a que fuera mejor. Es increíble 

que no necesitas ir a ayudar, ¡Con tu 

oración puedes ayudar tanto! SE LLAMA 

ROSARIO, porque las oraciones se 

enlazan con las meditaciones de los 

misterios y forman una corona de rosas 

para la Virgen. 

LOS MISTERIOS DEL ROSARIO 

-¿Qué son los misterios del Rosario? 

Son los hechos de la vida de Jesús y de 

María. que crees porque tienes FE, 

aunque tal vez humanamente no 

comprendas totalmente. Mientras 

rezas el Rosario, debes ir pensando, 

sobre el misterio y aprender de Jesús 

o de María algo específico. 

-Dependiendo del día de la semana que 

se rece se meditan diferentes misterios: 

MISTERIOS GOZOSOS (Lunes y Sábado) 

1) La encarnación. (Lc 1,38) Aprenderé 

de la Virgen, a vivir con humildad y a 

cumplir con alegría la voluntad de Dios. 

2) La visitación de la Virgen a su prima

Virgen, el servir a los demás con amor. 

3) El nacimiento del Hijo de Dios.

WHY WE PRAY THE ROSARY?

a) It is an ACT OF LOVE: A way to tell 

Mary, your Mother in heaven, you love

your mother. Think that every time you 

pray the Rosary to Our Lady you 

deliver a bouquet of roses. 

b) A REPAIR ACT: That is, a way to atone 

for the offenses that you and the other 

men have done to God. It's like when 

you offend someone you love a lot and 

then send them a flower, a chocolate or 

a message to let them know you feel 

bad you offend and hurt them so much. 

This act is nicer than just an apology. 

c) It is an apostolic: This means that 

through prayer you can ask Our Lady to 

intercede to God for many things: the 

Church, the priests, the Pope, the sick, 

the suffering; for the conversion of 

sinners, the family unit, wars. For 

everything you want to help make better. 

It's amazing that you do not need to 

go help, your prayer can help with so 

much!

THE MYSTERIES OF THE ROSARY 

What are the mysteries of the Rosary? 

These are the facts of the life of Jesus

the mystery of Jesus or Mary something 

specific.

Joyful Mysteries (Monday and Saturday)

PROMISES OF THE VIRGIN 

She promised the devotees of the 

Rosary: Those who honor me daily by

- You will receive any favor you ask. 

I will help you in all your needs. 

- Will have my special protection and 

benefits.
