Tu estas vivo por un propósito y la humanidad
entera tiene necesidad de ti,
allí donde estés, con lo poco o mucho
que tu sepas hacer eres una bella creación,
porque eres único, original, exclusivo, útil,
vital, fundamental, sustancial,
solamente créelo y VIVE!!

Hispano
El Dr. Juvenal G. Luza es un gran
líder académico en nuestra
comunidad nace en Chuquicamata,
Chile en 1950. El nace en el desierto
mas árido del mundo, El Desierto de
Atacama, ubicado en el norte de
Chile, región limítrofe con el Perú y
Bolivia. Juvenal explica: “Parte de
estos tres países se conocen como
La Región Andina, tierras que
pertenecieron al Imperio de Los Incas
en tiempos pasados.” Es aquí donde
crece como el mayor de ocho
hermanos. El comparte esta etapa
de su vida en Chile: “Mi padre
trabajando tiempo completo para
mantener la familia, y mi madre
llevando las responsabilidades de
la casa. Todos mis hermanos nos
llevamos por un año de diferencia, lo
que significó tener un nuevo hermano
cada año. Una familia feliz, con
mucha disciplina y responsabilidades
desde muy pequeños. La mayor parte
de nuestras vidas fue dedicada a los
trabajos escolares. Durante el día
asistir a clases, y en la tarde
dedicarnos a las tareas escolares.
Los fines de semana ayudar en el
negocio del papá.” El Dr. Luza cuenta
que desde pequeño además de
ayudar en la casa con sus hermanos
menores era recibir clases de
piano a los nueve años.
Gracias a la disciplina y ayuda de
su familia el Dr. Luza hace toda una
carrera en Chile hasta recibirse de
la Universidad de Chile, Sede
Antofagasta donde recibe el título de
Profesor de Biología y Ciencias.
Por si todo esto no fuera poco,
Juvenal sigue con sus estudios y en
Universidad de Chile, Facultad de
Agronomía en Santiago, recibe el
Magister en Ciencias Agropecuarias.
La aventura académica de el Dr. Luza
sigue una vez en los Estados Unidos
ya que estudia en la Universidad de
California, Davis, donde recibe el
Doctorado en Filosofía (Ph.D). Para
obtener y continuar su carrera como
académico recibe la credencial de
Materias Múltiples
en la Universidad de
Chapman, Monterey:

El Dr. Luza comparte cómo desde
temprana edad tiene el interés en
preocuparse por sus compañeros de
clase que se sentían marginados, o
que necesitaban un amigo o apoyo..
El explica: “Durante los seis años en
la escuela primaria fui elegido por
mis compañeros de clases y recibí el
certificado de reconocimiento como
“El Mejor Compañero de la Clase”
cada año.”
El Dr. Luza comparte como desde
temprana edad toma responsabilidad
de su educación y sus hermanos
siempre con el apoyo de sus padres.
El cuenta: “Para cursar mis estudios
de la enseñanza secundarias a la
edad de 14 años tuve que
trasladarme a otra ciudad y lo hice
con tres de mis hermanos menores.
De tal manera pasé a ser el
encargado de llevar la casa, ser el
responsable de mis hermanos,
ayudarlos con sus tareas escolares,
disciplina, hablar con sus maestros,
etc. En resumen todos con una
responsabilidad en la casa,
ayudarnos mutuamente y salir
adelante de la mejor forma.
Mis padres venían a visitarnos
los fines de semana, pero nos
llamaban por teléfono todo los días”.
Esta experiencia se convierte en las
primeras ocasiones en las cual
empecé a ayudar a otros.
De alguna manera estas experiencias
lo llevan a convertirse en un
educador en nuestra comunidad.
El Dr. Luza llega a trabajar en la
ciudad de Salinas desde hace 23
años como maestro de
segundo de primaria en la
Escuela Sherwood y al
año siguiente pasa a ser
maestro de sexto grado.
El explica cómo pasa a

“Cuando llegué a ser
administrador, obtuve la
posición de Director de la
Educación Bilingüe &
Migrante por seis años.
P o s t e r i o r m e n t e f u í
n o m b r a d o
S u p e r i n t e n d e n t e
Asistente de Servicios
Educacionales por nueve
años.” Hoy en día cuenta
c o n l a g r a n
responsabilidad de ser
n u e s t r o
colaboración con
maestros y personal
de apoyo en cada
escuela. Proveer
mayor participación
de los padres y la
comunidad en las
decisiones de la educación de todos
los niños, y que se sientan parte de
ella. Tener escuelas donde todos los
estudiantes sin distinción, todos los
padres, y todo el personal se sienta
bienvenido, tratado con respeto y
dignidad.”
Además el Dr. Luza es un gran
creyente de que para tener una mejor
vida en el futuro la única inversión
que cada niño debe tener, es invertir
en su educación cada día de su vida,
las tareas escolares diarias,
las responsabilidades en la casa,
y ayudar a sus padres.
Al pedirle un consejo para
nuestra comunidad él dice:
“La tremenda importancia de
participar en las decisiones de las
escuelas. Pedir y trabajar para tener
una cultura en las escuelas donde se
respete la cultura y el idioma de
todos los estudiantes. Aprender y
desarrollar el idioma inglés lo antes
posible y al mismo tiempo darle la
posibilidad a cada estudiante de
aprender y hablar dos idiomas
durante sus primeros años escolares,
con el objetivo de aprender un tercer
y cuarto idioma durante los estudios
secundarios y universitarios”…
“Esta debería ser la meta de todos
nosotros, el preparar a nuestros hijos
para que se desenvuelvan en un
mundo multicultural y multilingüe.”
Así con esta visión universal y
multicultural este gran académico
nos recuerda la importancia de la
educación ya que ofrece una entrada
a otros mundos, otras culturas e
idiomas.

Dr. Juvenal G. Luza is a
great academic leader in
our community born in
Chuquicamata, Chile in 1950.
Born in the driest desert
in the world, The Atacama
Desert, located in northern
Chile, the region bordering
Peru and Bolivia. Juvenal explains
his birthplace: "Part of these three
countries are known as the Andean
region, where land belonged to the
empire of the Incas in the past.
"In this terrain, it is where he is
raised as the oldest of eight siblings.
He shares more from his life in Chile:
"My father working full time to support
the family, and my mother taking the
responsibilities of the house. All my
brothers and I were a year apart,
which meant having a new brother
every year. We were happy, and had
a lot of discipline and responsibilities
from a very young age. Most of our
lives were dedicated to school work.
During the day we attended classes,
and the evening was devote to
homework. On weekends we helped
dad with the family business”.
Dr. Luza besides helping in the house
with his younger brothers also took
piano lessons at the age nine.
With discipline and help from his
family, Dr. Luza embarks upon an
academic career in Chile until
graduating from the University of
Chile, Antofagasta Headquarters
where he received the title of
Professor of Biology and Science.
As if this were not enough, Dr. Luza
continues his studies at University
of Chile in the Faculty of Agriculture
in Santiago, and received a Masters
of Agricultural Science.
Dr. Luza continues his academic
adventure in the U.S. He studies at
the University of California, Davis,
where he received a Doctorate of
Philosophy (Ph.D). To obtain and
continue his career as an academic
Dr. Luza receives the credential in
Multiple Subjects from Chapman
U n i v e r s i t y , M o n t e r e y :
and Dr. Luza receives a credential
o f M a n a g e m e n t a t t h e
University of San Jose, California.
From a very young age, Dr. Luza
had an interest in helping his
classmates who felt marginalized,
or who needed a friend or support.
He shares: "During the six years in
elementary school I was elected by
my peers and received a certificate of
recognition as "Best of Class partner"
every year."
Dr. Luza also shares how from a
young age he took the responsibility
of caring for the education of his
younger brothers always with the
support of his parents. He explains:
"To pursue my studies in secondary
education at the age of 14 I had to
move to another city with three of my
younger siblings. Thus, I became in
charge of running the house, I was
responsible for my siblings, helped
with homework, disciplined them,
talked to their
teachers, etc..
In short had a
responsibility at
home and helped
each other to get
ahead. My parents
came to visit on
weekends, and called us over the
phone every day.” This experience
in many ways becomes the first time

he begins to help others with their
education.
Somehow these experiences lead
him to become an educator in our
community. Dr. Luza works in the city
of Salinas for 23 years. He begins as
a second grade teacher at Sherwood
School and the following year
becomes a sixth grade teacher.
He explains how he enters
administration: "I got the position
of Director of Bilingual & Migrant
Education for six years. Later I was
appointed Assistant Superintendent
of Educational Services for nine
years.” Today Dr. Luza has a great
responsibility as our Superintendent
of Education in the same School
District in the City of Salinas.
When we asked him about his
next goal, he shares the following:
"Improving all curricula taught in each
classroom. Working in collaboration
with teachers and support staff at
each school. Provide greater
involvement of parents and the
community in the decisions of the
education of all children, and feel
part of it. Have schools where all
students, all parents, and all staff
feel welcomed, and are treated
with respect and dignity."
Dr. Luza is also a big believer that
to have a better life in the future the
only investment that each child
should have is to invest in their
education every day of our life
with daily homework assignments,
responsibilities at home, and help
f r o m t h e i r p a r e n t s .
We asked Dr. Luza for advice to
our community and he said the
f o l l o w i n g :
"The tremendous importance of

schools. Ask for and work towards
a culture in schools where the
culture and language of all students
is repeated. Learn and develop the
language as soon as possible and
at the same time give each student
the opportunity to learn and speak
two languages during his school
years in order to learn a third and
fourth language during high school

“This should be the goal for all of us
to prepare our children to unfold in a
multicultural and multilingual world”.
This universal and multicultural
academic vision serves as a great
reminder of the importance of
education as it provides a gateway
to other worlds, other cultures
and languages.

example adding to this, the warrior

¿Qué les pasa entre los 8 y los 12 años?
No es extraño que un niño, entrando a la
pubertad, responda de manera grosera,
tenga repentinos cambios de ánimo o
humor y tenga cierto delirio de
persecución.
Consejos para sobrevivir esta etapa difícil
1.Mantener tu estatus de padre:
“A pesar de que parezca lo contrario,
el adolescente quiere que el padre y la
madre le ayuden y aconsejen durante esa
etapa confusa”, “Al final, aprenderá cómo
debe comportarse en función de cómo el
padre enfrenta cada situación”. No te
comportes como un adolescente rebelde
e imprudente, ni fomentes conductas,
alcohol, cigarro o cualquier tipo de drogas
o con la velocidad en los autos, si no
quieres que tu hijo pierda noción de lo
que está bien y mal. Tu eres el padre o
madre compórtate como tal.
2. Establecer los límites: Hay que
establecer reglas nuevas mientras tu
casi adolescente gana independencia.
Hay que empezar con lo que es
importante como lo que es bueno y malo,
la honestidad y las calificaciones en la
escuela- y luego seguir con las cosas
que no son tan fundamentales, como
mantener la habitación en orden y cuidar
su higiene personal, hay que establecer
la línea que no se puede cruzar, o que
cuando se cruza hay problemas graves.
“Ignoro que volteé sus ojos o suspire
fuertemente, pero mi hija sabe que cruzar
la línea es levantarme la voz o dejarme
hablando sola”, Hay que comunicarse
con claridad y calma en cuanto cualquier
comportamiento inaceptable comienza.
No hay que esperar a que se salga de
control y el chico grite a los cuatro vientos
q u e t e o d i a .
3.Consecuencia por su mala conducta:
En esa edad, puede ser muy efectivo
negociar el uso del celular o algo muy
importante para el adolecente. Lo crucial
es no ceder, y cumplir la consecuencia
debe ser clara. Porque si una sola vez
sedes en lo que prometiste, pierdes el
d o b l e d e l c o n t r o l .
4. Respeto: Es primordial que le
recuerdes a tu hijo que tú también eres
una persona. Si dice que te odia, hay que
responder diciendo que uno no los odia
pero que es hiriente lo que está diciendo,
Por otra parte, también es importante
tratarlos con respeto y es importante
disculparse si herimos sus sentimientos
d e u n a f o r m a c r u e l .
5. Tiempo fuera para calmarse: Cuando
una pelea entre tú y tu hijo lleva a gritos
histéricos, para la discusión y espera
a que se calme –o ambos se calmen-.
Incitar a que tu hijo tome una pausa en
una situación difícil es una buena forma
de disipar el enojo. “Al volver a hablar
siempre se está en mejor disposición
después de tomarse una pausa”.
6. Tomarse el tiempo para hablar cara a
cara: Lleva a tu hijo adolescente a
desayunar o invítalo a pasear al perro,
sólo los dos. No te impongas, deja que tu
hijo dirija la conversación, incluso si sólo
habla de un videojuego. La plática puede
terminar siendo sobre temas relevantes.
Y si no lleva a ningún lado, de todas
formas ganarás puntos por escucharlo,
Si tu hijo se da cuenta de que escuchas,
incluso cuando te cuenta sobre los temas
más ajenos a tu vida, entonces saque
puede acercarse a ti para lo más
importante. Además de procurar
actividades a solas, hay que asegurarse
de estar disponible fuera de esas citas.

escuchar a tus hijos, incluso si eso
implica interrumpir tu trabajo, y si esto

pides. Tu hijo adolescente seguirá
recurriendo a ti, si sabe que será
escuchado sin que hagas juicios sobre
d e t a l l e s p o c o i m p o r t a n t e s .
7. Hacer actividades familiares:
A pesar de que los hijos en la pubertad
sienten que deben separarse de sus
padres (lo necesitan) y comienzan a
i n v o l u c r a r s e e n a c t i v i d a d e s
extracurriculares fuera del hogar, hay
que establecer momentos de encuentro
familiar, una solución es designar un día
a la semana para la familia, sin amigos,
computadoras, teléfonos celulares, ni
videojuegos. Haciendo algo unidos en
casa o dar un paseo.
Esta es una forma, de proporcionarle un
ambiente de seguridad, donde tus hijos
sepan que sólo tienen que ser él o ella
misma, un miembro de la familia a quien
se le acepta por sí mismo, se le respeta
y se le ama.

Una gran historia de cómo un joven mexicano se

2. La novela, Under the Feet of Jesus de Helena
Viramontes narra la historia de una familia
mexico-americana que sigue la corrida de
cosecha en California. La novela se cuenta
desde el punto de vista de Estrella. Esta novela
parece estar consiente de las novelas de John
Steinbeck ya que habla del campesino.
3. La tercera sugerencia es la ya traducida
novela, La casa en Mango Street de Sandra
Cisneros. Esta novela también cuenta la historia
de una familia mexico-americana que vive en la

4. La novela Soñar en cubano de Cristina García

Voces para los niños
Voces para los Niños – CASA es una
organización sin fines de lucro ubicada
en Salinas que ayuda a niños que se
encuentran en cuidados de crianza o
“foster care”.Nosotros capacitamos a
voluntarios de nuestra comunidad
que asumen el rol de CASA.
CASA es un acrónimo en inglés que significa
“Court Appointed Special Advocates”
y en español esto significa Defensores
Especiales Designados por la Corte.
Los voluntarios CASA ayudan a que los
niños prosperen mientras se encuentran en
hogares de crianza, y también ayudan a
que estos niños se establezcan en hogares
seguros y permanentes lo más pronto
posible. Cerca de 60% de los niños en
cuidados de crianza en el Condado de
Monterey son de origen Hispano, pero solo
un porcentaje muy pequeño de nuestros
voluntarios son Hispanos. Por eso
necesitamos más representación de la
cultura Hispana, no necesariamente por
el idioma, pero para mantener a los niños
conectados con su cultura y tradiciones.
En estos momentos necesitamos gente
que sea bilingüe y esperamos en un
futuro tener los recursos suficientes
para trabajar con voluntarios que
solamente hablan español.

Voices for Children
Voices for Children – CASA is a
-profit organization located in Salinas
that helps children/youth who are in
Foster care. We train volunteers from
the community to become CASA.
CASA is an acronym which stands for
Court Appointed Special Advocate.
We provide support to children/youth
during their time in foster care to help
them establish safety and permanency.
Almost 60% of the children/youth we
serve come from Hispanic backgrounds,
yet the majority of our advocates do not
reflect this cultural heritage. For this
reason we are in need of more
advocates that reflect the Hispanic
culture, not necessarily for the Spanish
language but to connect the children
youth to the culture and traditions.
At the present time we are looking for
bilingual advocates and in the future plan
on having more resources to support
mono lingual Spanish speakers
to serve as volunteers.

El Santuario de Lourdes
Es el segundo destino de peregrinación

a food to eat? For people who are experiencing
homelessness, without a place to prepare meals,
a home-style meal is truly a blessing; but in
Dorothy's Kitchen, we serve more than food. We
serve smiles, gentle conversation, hugs, and an
atmosphere of family. Love, respect, kindness,
plus hot served meals, medical attention, drop-in
day shelter, emergency night shelter for women,
advocacy/social service navigation, after-school
enrichment and mentoring for farm worker
children, and art as a means of expressing
compassion and social justice.

La Justicia
Todos queremos que respeten lo nuestro. Nos indignamos cuando alguien no
respeta nuestra fama, nuestras cosas, nuestros derechos.
¡Los demás deben ser justos con nosotros! Ahora volteemos la moneda:
¿Te has preguntado, qué tan justo eres tú con los demás?
-En este te platicaremos sobre la segunda virtud cardinal:
LA VIRTUD DE LA JUSTICIA...¿QUÉ ES LA JUSTICIA?
- La justicia es la virtud que hace que el hombre dé a Dios y a cada persona,
lo que le pertenece y le es debido.
La mejor manera de imaginarnos lo que es la justicia es una BALANZA.
Así es la justicia, nos ayuda a dar a cada cual exactamente lo que le pertenece.
¿CUÁL ES LA DIFERENCIA ENTRE JUSTICIA Y CARIDAD?
La caridad nos obliga a socorrer y a ayudar a los otros por AMOR,
sin que el otro tenga el derecho a una limosna o ayuda.
- En cambio la JUSTICIA:
a) No es un regalo, sino que es un derecho de la otra persona.
b) No da ni de más, ni de menos.
- Los católicos debemos ser caritativos con nuestros hermanos, pero debemos
empezar por ser justos con ellos.
JUSTICIA CON DIOS
Tener justicia con Dios es:
1) Reconocer que Dios es tu Señor y te hizo a ti con sus manos. Por tanto,
Dios tiene derecho total y absoluto sobre ti y sobre todas tus cosas. Dios puede
darte las personas y las cosas y quitártelas si así lo quiere, porque es Dios.
2) Debes vivir siempre como si tú mismo y todas tus cosas no te pertenecieran,
pensando en todo momento que tú y todo lo que tienes, es de Dios.
3) Por justicia, tienes el deber de creer sus palabras porque Dios es siempre
la Verdad. Sus palabras están en el Evangelio y en lo que nos dice
el Papa y la Iglesia Católica.
4) Por justicia, debes obedecer los mandamientos de Dios.
JUSTICIA CON EL PRÓJIMO/JUSTICIA CON LOS DEMÁS
- Es dar a cada persona, a tu esposo/a, a tus hijos, a tu jefe, a tu empleado,
a tu compañero, a tu amigo..., a cada uno lo que le toca verdaderamente,
lo que le pertenece, a lo que tiene derecho.
- A tu esposo (a) le debes fidelidad: Tú le prometiste entregarte toda la vida.
- Tus hijos tienen derecho a tu amor y a tu paciencia y a una buena educación.
- A tu jefe le debes el trabajar con dedicación, y él te paga un sueldo por ello.
- A tu empleado debes el pagarle un sueldo correcto de acuerdo a su trabajo.
- A tu compañero le debes respeto. Tener justicia con los demás es también:
- No dañar a propósito a otra persona.
- No encarcelar a alguien inocente.
- No decir mentiras en los tribunales.
- No acusar a alguien falsamente, o si tienes duda.
- No desear, ni menos robar lo que no es tuyo. Regresar cosas encontradas.
- No cobrar más de lo justo por lo que vendes.
- No pagar menos de lo justo cuando compras.
- No cobrar más de los intereses debidos cuando prestas dinero.
- No tratar de obtener siempre lo mejor para ti y lo que sobre para los demás.
- No criticar, hacer juicios, decir chismes de otros.
- No burlarse, ofender o maldecir a otros.
- No Luchar contra el aborto. El nuevo bebé tiene derecho a vivir. No lo mates.
- No hacer justicia, chisme y justicia son diferentes, no hagas pecado de
omisión.
JUSTICIA DISTRIBUTIVA: La persona que reparte las cosas o los puestos, debe
hacerlo honestamente, según los méritos y a las necesidades de cada uno.
JUSTICIA SOCIAL: Nos dice que cada una de las personas de la sociedad debe
actuar para lograr el bien común, el bien de todos y no solo el suyo. Para lograr
el bien de todos, se hacen las LEYES. Todos estamos obligados a obedecer esas
leyes para que la convivencia en la sociedad sea más fácil y vivamos en paz.
LA JUSTICIA DIVINA: Uno de los actos más nobles de la justicia es PERDONAR.
Cuando alguien te ha hecho algo malo, te ha herido, tú puedes pensar: lo justo
es que le desprecie, que se la regrese. Pues NO.. nada mas piensa como te
perdona Dios a ti. ¿Te lo mereces, cuanto le has ofendido a lo largo de tu vida?
Y Él, siempre que te arrepientes, te perdona porque te ama.
¡PUEDE MÁS SU AMOR QUE SU JUSTICIA !/¡ COMO TU PERDONES, ASÍ TE PERDONARÁ DIOS!.
PROPÓSITO DEL MES:
Este mes, pregúntate cada noche: ¿Fui justo hoy con todos? ¿con mi madre,
mi padre, mis hermanos (as), mi esposa (o) hijos (as), mi familia, mi jefe,
a mi empleado, a mi compañero? …Pídele a Dios la gracias de la justicia,
la segunda virtud cardinal.

We all want everyone to respect ours. We are outraged when someone does
not respect our reputation, our things, our rights. Others must be fair to us!

others? In this you will talk about the second cardinal virtue:
THE VIRTUE OF JUSTICE ... WHAT IS JUSTICE?
- Justice is the virtue that makes a man give to God and to each person what
belongs and is due to one.
The best way to imagine what justice is a BALANCE. That's justice,
it helps us to give everyone exactly what they deserve.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN JUSTICE AND CHARITY?
Charity obliges us to help and assist others through LOVE, without the
other being entitled to a handout or help.
- Instead JUSTICE:
a) It is not a gift, but it is a right of the other person.
b) not giving more, or less.
- Catholics must be charitable with our brothers, but we must start
by being fair to them.
JUSTICE WITH GOD Having God's justice:
1) Recognize that God is your Lord he created you with his hands.

God.

¿SABIAS QUE?
Su nombre científico es Panthera leo.
Es el segundo felino más grande de la
naturaleza, después del tigre. Se le llama
rey de la selva por su bravura y habilidad
para luchar. Son los felinos más sociables
de la naturaleza. Actualmente sólo
habitan en reservas del África sun
sahariana y el parque Gir en la India.
Un león suele vivir entre 10 y 14 años en
estado salvaje; en zoológicos han llegado
a vivir hasta 20 años. Los machos
salvajes, raramente superan los 10 años,
por sus heridas en luchas constantes con
machos rivales. Pasan alrededor de 20
horas al día descansando. Marcan su
territorio con orina. La caza suele ocurrir
durante las horas previas al amanecer.
No pasan más de unas dos horas al día
caminando, y apenas unos 50 minutos,
en promedio, comiendo. Cuando una
leona queda embarazada, las demás
hembras cazan para ella. Un 80% de los
cachorros nacidos en estado salvaje
mueren antes de cumplir los 2 años.
Los rugidos de los leones son los más
fuertes de los felinos y tienen diferentes
funcionalidades. El rugido más agudo
suele ocurrir por la noche, y puede ser
tan fuerte que se escucha hasta
distancias de ocho kilómetros.
Se cree que sirve para advertir a otros
depredadores que ellos están allí, que ese

Se que esta afirmación puede
incomodar a muchos que, con la
mejor intención, realizan su tarea lo
mejor que saben pero me permito
compartir esto, no con el fin de
enjuiciar, sino con la intención de reflexionar, aprender y mejorar.
Me gustaría recordar que el origen más profundo de la
palabra educar es “dar a luz”. La verdadera educación se da cuando
con las acciones, experiencias significativas, palabras, gestos,
estímulos, presencia; logramos que el Ser reconozca, manifieste y
exprese su naturaleza. Para poder lograr esto, es necesario aprender
a escuchar sus necesidades más profundas e incorporar formas de
relación que ayuden a respetar y potenciar. Como educador debe
aprender a escuchar su interior, esto permitirá reconocer los dones y
capacidades para poder instrumentarlos al servicio de la comunidad.
Este proceso es la base para lograr la autosatisfacción personal y, de
este modo, compartir nuestra plenitud y felicidad alrededor. Esta es
una práctica muy frecuente cuando persiguen el propósito de “educar”,
usar recursos que, lejos de conseguir esto, generan en los niños
actitudes que luego el mismo sistema padece. Una de esas prácticas
es dejar a los niños sin descanso, sin recreo, buscando con esto que
obedezcan más el permanecer más concentrados, más atentos, más
quietos, más callados, más pasivos, más receptivos y más obedientes
frente a las órdenes de afuera. Las preguntas frente a esta realidad
son: ¿Los docentes y directivos que utilizan y defienden esta
modalidad, serán del todo conscientes de las conductas que están
entrenando en los niños cuando los castigan? ¿Aún creerán que el
castigo es un método educativo? ¿Están en condiciones de reconocer
cuáles son los motivos por los cuales, a veces resulta una tarea muy
difícil de cumplir para un niño lo que ellos piden y cómo lo piden?
Para los niños pequeños, estar en actividad intelectual por períodos
largos que, a veces alcanzan las dos o tres horas, es una meta que les
exige NO escuchar su naturaleza, su interior y sus necesidades más
profundas. La exigencia es tan alta y tan deshumanizada que parece
que, a la hora de diseñar los sistemas, elegir los métodos y los
recursos educativos, nos hemos olvidado que un niño es, antes que
nada, un niño y que; en sus primeros años de vida tiene mucho más
energía impulsiva que capacidad para permanecer callado, sentado,
escuchando y desarrollando su capacidad mental como podría hacerlo
un adolescente o adulto. El impulso vital y la innata curiosidad de un
niño es la principal materia prima para descubrir, apropiarse y conocer
el mundo; sólo que él, puede hacerlo con mayor fluidez, placer, alegría
y facilidad a partir de la exploración activa, haciendo, creando,
armando, desarmando, inventando, construyendo, diseñando,
cuestionando, probando, jugando, etc. Esta cultura ha
sobredimensionado y sobrevalorado la formación intelectual
imponiendo a los niños ir en contra de su naturaleza y, a partir de esto,
generamos desarmonías y maltrato. Frente a esta realidad, los niños
responden buscando recuperar la armonía perdida y lo hacen como
pueden. Algunos con actitudes de rebeldía, otros cuestionado la
autoridad por la falta de confianza que le genera el adulto que tiene
la tarea de cuidar y guiar, otros rechazando el aprendizaje, otros con
desmotivación y apatía y, cuando esto no alcanza para ser
ESCUCHADOS, empiezan a presentar desequilibrios físicos y más tarde
estados emocionales graves que van desde la tristeza aguda hasta el
deseo de no vivir. Cuando un sistema está diseñado faltando el
respeto a un niño, este sistema lastima, independientemente de la
meta que persiga. Genera desarmonía porque su forma contiene
implícitamente altísimos grados de VIOLENCIA ESTRUCTURAL. Me toca
a diario escuchar la otra cara de la moneda, la que expresan los niños
en el consultorio, voces de impotencia, cansancio, enojo y furia, ganas
de no vivir, desmotivación generalizada, apatía, depresión, tristeza y
cada vez, a más corta edad. Y avanzada la adolescencia buscan
silenciar este dolor y este estado interior con el alcohol, las drogas, el
sexo o la exigencia de ser “los mejores en aquello que elijan”. Los
niños piden a gritos que dejemos de maltratarlos exigiéndoles antes de
tiempo acomodarse a un sistema de vida o que los obliga a incorporar
recursos que sólo son funcionales a un sistema cada vez más
deshumanizado que lastima a grandes y chicos y que, para sostenerlo,
el Hombre está pagando costos muy altos (pérdida del disfrute por lo
que se hace, pérdida de sentido, anestesia emocional, adicciones a
estimulantes, antidepresivos, drogas que posibiliten conciliar el sueño,
etc.). Dejar a un niño sin recreo no es otra cosa que usar un método
de castigo aceptado por gran parte de la sociedad que busca silenciar
su voz. Un niño que está diciendo como puede y como le sale
(distracción, risas, un movimiento, o una reacción impulsiva): “Ya no
puedo seguir haciendo lo que me piden” y esto debe ser escuchado,
primero por las madres y luego por la sociedad. Si no nos atrevemos a
escuchar lo que nos están queriendo decir, no pidamos luego que ellos

amorosa, aprender a cuestionar la corriente y decir
que NO a muchas de las exigencias que esta
sociedad impone. Los niños con su sensibilidad
pueden ayudarnos, solo debemos animarnos a abrir
el corazón, salir de la soberbia y dejarnos empapar
de su sabiduría emocional que es mucho más que
conocimiento. Por ultimo, Alertas cuando los niños

I know this statement may inconvenience many,
with the best intentions, do their job the best they

learn to listen within, this will allow the gifts and abilities to implement
them in the service of the community. This process is the basis for

happiness around. This is a common practice when pursuing the aim of
"educating", using resources that are far to achieve this, generate
attitudes in children which then suffers the same system. One such
practice is to leave children without rest, recreation, seeking to obey it's
still the most responsive and obedient face of orders from outside,
more attentive, more concentrated remain, quieter, more passive. The
questions deal with this reality are teachers and administrators who
use and defend this mode, fully aware of the behaviors that are training
in children when punished? Still they believe that punishment is an
educational method? Are they able to recognize what are the reasons
why, it is sometimes a very difficult task for a child to fulfill what they
