apply to Catz.<br />
The tutorial system provides our students with<br />
incomparable levels <strong>of</strong> personal attention and academic<br />
rigour, enabling them to lock wits regularly with the<br />
world’s leading academics. The quality <strong>of</strong> this system<br />
depends on a low student-to-tutor ratio. Our financial<br />
position, solidified and strengthened by your support,<br />
has enabled us to maintain our team <strong>of</strong> over 100 Tutors<br />
and Lecturers. Our ability to fill vacated teaching posts is<br />
essential, and since 2008, your support has helped us to<br />
replace retiring Fellows in Mathematics and Spanish. We<br />
are proud to provide one <strong>of</strong> the larger course <strong>of</strong>ferings<br />
in the <strong>University</strong>: Catz currently <strong>of</strong>fers 40 subjects for<br />
undergraduates and our postgraduates are reading 38<br />
subjects. Thanks to your support, we have also been able<br />
to increase the collection <strong>of</strong> books in our library, giving our<br />
students access to an ever-larger source <strong>of</strong> knowledge and<br />
eliminating the need to buy expensive textbooks.<br />
Our buildings provide a welcoming and spacious<br />
atmosphere, which houses the intellectual community<br />
in which our students thrive. Your support for the<br />
Catz|fivezero Campaign helps us to continue improving<br />
them, thereby making a big impact on our students’<br />
quality <strong>of</strong> life. Last year, with the help <strong>of</strong> donations, we<br />
purchased new computers for the library and fitted new<br />
carpets in 100 student rooms. Your support has also<br />
helped us to reduce our carbon footprint significantly. In<br />
2012, we installed an environmentally friendly heating<br />
system in Hall and re-ro<strong>of</strong>ed the gym with a highly<br />
advanced ‘green’ ro<strong>of</strong>, which will boost energy efficiency<br />

and access standards evolving constantly, donations<br />
provide us with invaluable help in preserving the worldclass<br />
standards <strong>of</strong> Catz’s buildings and facilities.<br />

and Friends such as you have helped to secure the<br />
future <strong>of</strong> the <strong>College</strong>. As you will have read above, the<br />
achievements and impact <strong>of</strong> the Campaign are being felt<br />
strongly, proving the vital importance <strong>of</strong> your donations.<br />
Looking to the future, we aim to continue expanding<br />
financial support for our students, improving the quality<br />
<strong>of</strong> our tutorial system, and making sure that Catz remains<br />
an excellent place to live and work. Thanks to the<br />
enduring support <strong>of</strong> Donors such as you, we have every<br />
confidence that these goals will be attained and that our<br />
young <strong>College</strong> will continue to flourish for the next 50<br />
