Veda and Tantra are the basic philosophies<br />

and systems that have given rise to<br />

various schools of thoughts and traditions.<br />

These schools include Samkhya, Vedanta, Advaita<br />

Vedanta, Vishishthadvaita, Yoga Darshan,<br />

Buddhism, Jainism, Vaisheshik, Uttar mimamsa,<br />

Saivism, Shakta and many others. Many types of<br />

Yoga came from these various paths, mainly from<br />

Bhakti Yoga, Karma Yoga of Bhagvada Gita, Jnana<br />

Yoga, Ashtanga yoga and Hatha Yoga.<br />

The recent history of Yoga can be traced to<br />

Patanjali (500 BC), Adi Shankaracharya<br />

(8th century AD), Matsyendranath and<br />

Gorakshanath (6 to 8 century AD). The Yoga<br />

movements are inspired and guided by many<br />

saints and sages during this time.<br />

Yoga can be defined as perfect movements.<br />

This includes all the parts of the body,<br />

through various requirements of<br />

movements. It can be classified as, Pre Position,<br />

Neck Movement, Shoulder Movement, Hand<br />

Movement, Leg Movement, Knee Movement, etc.<br />

There are several joints in our body, which needs<br />

lubrication and movements to work properly. The<br />

food we consume supplies the lubrication for our<br />

body and Yoga and other activities provide the<br />

movements of our body. In our regular life, some<br />

of these joints are overused and some are rarely<br />

used, which may create problems at a later stage<br />

in your life due to wear and tear To make these<br />

joints maintain their healthy condition, basic<br />

movements are necessary.<br />
