Church Office Administrator York Street Church of Christ is a church that is seeking to help people meet Jesus, become like Him and be equipped to impact the local and global community. We are a large regional church with an average of 400+ people attending on any given Sunday. With many different ministries and activities we aim to be a church that is All About Life. The Church Office Administrator has a key role in the life of the church. Often the Church Office Administrator will be the first person people from the church and community will speak to when they either enter the church or contact the church via phone or email. This means the Church Office Administrator needs to not only be competent with administration duties but to also be able to relate to and present well to all people. It is essential the person embraces the church’s vision and core values, is mature in their Christian faith and character, works well with others in a team environment, and has high level office, management and computer skills. The successful candidate will provide support to the Ministry Team, Church Operations Manager and also to the various ministries of our church. Job Specification General Office Duties o Telephone administration of NEC System including “switch board” duties o Mail collecting, sorting and distribution o Email manage general incoming emails o Computer work • To competently use Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Adobe InDesign (training available) To maintain and operate the Pastoral Care program (some training provided), including using the linked SMS Global program for communication such as roster reminders o Photocopying administration of photocopier functionality and resources o Inventory maintaining adequate office and church supplies o Running “errands” within Ballarat using own transport (expenses will be reimbursed) o Ensuring staff kitchen and church foyer are maintained in a tidy state To recruit, train, encourage and supervise administrative volunteers To respond to queries regarding the programs at the Church, directing questions where appropriate To write letters, communication, prayer requests, newsletters and reports as needed To update and maintain the Church’s webpage with basic information To assist with bookings of the Church facility To assist with the preparation and distribution of church rosters To manage the recording of data such as church attendance and connect card information To assist with maintaining the church library Other duties as may be required from time to time Church Office Administrator PD June 2013 Page 1 of 2

Hours of Work<br />

32 hours per week (Monday to Friday) - the number of hours per day is negotiable.<br />

This is a permanent part time position.<br />

Review Period<br />

<br />

This appointment will be subject to a 3 month review before being deemed permanent.<br />

Remuneration<br />

Long service leave and annual leave will accrue at award rates.<br />

This position is covered by the Clerks <strong>–</strong> Private Sector Award 2010.<br />
