It’s hard to believe that term 2 has come and
gone and we're now half way through the
year! But we've had fun!
It has been a jam packed term with great
MOPS mornings, several major events and 1
major farewell. Rachel Francis, who has been
a part of York St MOPS for many years will be
missed but we are excited for the adventure
her family are about to embark on. [More
about Rachel and her family on page 14.]
Please pray for York St MOPS and the families
involved. Our numbers have fluctuated
considerably due to many families suffering
from gastro, colds and flu. Please pray that as
winter continues our families will be protected
from further illness. Also, we had a group
start up who were interested in finding out
more about Jesus and the Christian faith. This
has gone very well and will continue to meet
in term 3. Please pray for these mums and
that the seed of the Gospel will fall on 'good
soil'. We also have many pregnant mothers,
please pray for healthy pregnancies and safe
deliveries and that the miracle of birth will be
a witness to God's great goodness.
MOPS recommences for term 3 on July 25th,
9:30-11:30am.
Thank you for your prayers and support and
please consider volunteering some of your
time to help this vital mission to mums.
Peace,
Sarah
If you have ever thought about being a carer
at MOPS, now is the time to get on board!
A lot of the success of
York St MOPS is
because of the
wonderful people who
volunteer their time to
care for the children
attending. But due the
increase in families
and loss of a few
carers we desperately
need more help in this
area.
To be a carer all you
need to do is be free
on Wednesday
mornings during the
school term on a
fortnightly basis. It’s
not every week! Plus
you'll need an
approved Working With Children Check, which
we can help you obtain if you don't already
have one.
Whether you are younger and looking for
some childcare
experience or are
older and have
experience with
children to share, we
want to hear from
YOU! All our carers
work in teams, so you
won't be alone and
you'll have the
opportunity to make
some great friends.
Not to mention
brighten the day of a
mum and child or two
or three.
Please see Sarah
Bolton or Alisha
Kynoch ASAP if you
can help us (0431 511 609 or
yorkstmops@gmail.com).
