A word from our Senior Pastor
Hi, and welcome to the July edition of The
Vine, our monthly church magazine. We trust
that you have a great time with us as we
worship our awesome God together. Here at
York St, we are a large regional church that is
ALL ABOUT LIFE. This month there are many
things happening in the life of the church so
please take the time to read through The Vine
and if you have questions or comments then

Throughout the first three weeks of July we
will continue to look at a number of the
Courageous Prayers found in the Bible. On
22 nd July we will hear from those who were
involved in the Kingdom Assignment, and on
29 th July we will look at the topic of Baptism.
If you haven’t been baptised or have been
thinking about being baptised then I
encourage you to attend one of our services
on Sunday 29 th July.
2. They are to manage, multiply, and invest
this money as a steward OUTSIDE THE
WALLS of this church in some way that
advances God’s Kingdom agenda in the
world. WHAT they do and HOW they do it is
between them and God. GOAL: See how
far this $100 can go.
On Sunday 22 nd July we will begin to hear
some of the stories about
what has happened to the
participants of the Kingdom
Assignments and the $100
that was entrusted to them.
KINGDOM ASSIGNMENT FEEDBACK
On Sunday 22 nd July during all three services
we will hear some stories and testimonies
about the Kingdom Assignments which were
activated back in March. The Kingdom
Assignments were based upon the Parable of
Talents found in Matthew 25:14- 30.
On Sunday March 25 th at the end of all three
services we asked for 10 volunteers to gather
on the stage. I then handed each person
$100 and invited them to be part of the
Kingdom Assignment. In accepting the
Kingdom Assignment they did so with two
conditions.
1. They must understand and agree that the
$100 is NOT their money. It is the Master’s
(Jesus’) money and he has entrusted it to
them.
BUILDING UPDATE
It is exciting to see the new building almost
finished. Throughout this month we will see
the landscaping completed at the rear entry
as well as the final touches to the building.
We will also begin to unpack the playground
with the aim of starting the long process of
building it. If you haven’t had a chance to
look at the new buildings then I encourage
you to park at the rear of the church (off
Joseph St) and walk through the new building
next Sunday.
As a church we are borrowing up to $250,000
to complete this project. If you are part of the
Yorkie family, I ask that you prayerfully
consider giving a special offering to the
Building Project, particularly as we come to
the end of the financial year and many will
receive their tax returns.
2
