Personal Encouragement
Open Doors brings personal encouragement
to many persecuted believers in various ways,
including writing letters and cards of
encouragement, as well as sending travellers
to meet and pray with them in their local
areas.
Speaking out in advocacy
Open Doors helps persecuted believers by
advocating on their behalf, providing legal
support, seeking positive policy changes and
campaigning in Australia.
Raising awareness and encouraging prayer
Open Doors produces a range of resources
that are available to Australian Christians,
alerting them to the needs to the Persecuted
Church and encouraging prayerful support.
Please pray for the Persecuted Church
For their physical protection and
deliverance. (Matt 26:39, Acts 12:5, Php
1:19, Phil 22, Rom 15:30-31)
That they will see God's grace as sufficient
and God's power perfected in their
weakness. (2 Cor 12:9-10)
That they would love Christ's appearing all
the more. (2 Tim 4:5-8, Heb 11:35)
That they will rejoice in sharing the
sufferings of Jesus so that they will rejoice
even more when Christ is revealed. (Heb
10:34, Matt 5:12, 1 Peter 4:13, Rom 5:3-
5)
That they will endure. (Heb 10:36)
That they will choose ill-treatment and the
reproach of Christ, and not the pleasures
of sin. (Heb 11:24-26, 1 Peter 4:1, Heb
5:8)
That they will love Christ far more than life
itself. (Rev 12:10-11, Acts 20:24)
That they will love their enemies. (Luke
6:27-31)
That they do not enter into temptations -
an easy possibility under the stress of
persecution. (Luke 22:39-45)
That they will rejoice that they are
considered worthy to suffer for His name.
(Acts 5:41)
That they will remember they were made
for such persecution. (Acts 14:22, Php
1:29)
That they will live the joy of the Lord before
their persecutors. (Acts 16:25, Php 1:28)
That they will remember their future glory.
(Rom 8:18)
That they would learn to completely trust
in God. (2 Cor 1:8-9)
That they would rejoice that they bear in
their bodies the 'brand marks of
Christ.' (Gal 6:17)
