<strong>MCCG</strong> Residents Present Work<br />
at 20<strong>09</strong> Southeastern Surgical Congress<br />
Seven residents made eight poster presentations at the annual Southeastern Surgical Congress meeting in Atlanta<br />
in February. The <strong>MCCG</strong> contingent was among the best represented in the Congress, widely viewed as<br />
the best regional surgical organization and conference in the U.S.<br />
Ralph Sams, PGY1, presents his work.<br />
Benjie Christie, PGY5, presented his review of all-terrain vehicle<br />
injuries. Geary Bush, PGY2, gave a case report on the management<br />
of pancreatic transaction using an ERCP-placed stent.<br />
Jason Chapman, PGY2, showed a case of an esophageal fistula<br />
from an aberrant right subclavian artery. Vincent Scoglietti,<br />
PGY2, presented a case of a perineal adenocarcinoma that arose<br />
more than 20 years after proctocolectomy for ulcerative colitis.<br />
Bradley Dennis, PGY3, showed a case of malignant phyllodes<br />
tumor, a rare case in the childhood age group. Andy Bozeman,<br />
PGY3, gave two presentations on his continued work with Joseph<br />
Van De Water, M.D., Professor , using impedence cardiography.<br />
Ralph Sams, PGY1, presented an unusual case of<br />
three visceral hernias in a single patient.<br />
