PTO HAPPENINGS
FROM THE WHES OFFICE…
-Classroom HERO Program-
Our classroom HERO Program, in association with our
Hilltopper HERO program, began on Tuesday, October
9. Every Tuesday, between now and the end of
the school year, each “classroom HERO” will have the
opportunity to sit with a friend of his/her choice at
a specially decorated table in our cafeteria. The
classroom HERO reward recognizes individual students
for doing great things each week in their homeroom
and specials classes. In addition to sitting at
a special table, each classroom HERO gets to sign
the classroom HERO log at the start of every Tuesday.
-Red, White, and Blue Day-
To help honor our country’s
veterans on the following
Monday’s Veteran’s Day, Friday,
November 9, is Red,
White, and Blue Day. Please
have your child wear our nation’s
colors, if possible.

-Hilltopper HERO Classroom Meetings-
The classroom meetings for our HERO program began the first Friday of October. The meetings will
occur every Friday during the last half hour of students’ instructional day. The meeting time
provides opportunities for students and staff to identify and discuss key topics about bullying
prevention, creating a positive school climate, and being a positive citizen in our community.
-C-Mites-
C-Mites parent registration is now
available. Contact Mrs. Thomas in the
guidance office for additional details.
-Fall Picture Re-Take Day-
Friday, November 9, is fall picture retake day. THANKS to
all PTO volunteers who helped with fall picture day on October
3! Additional information will be forthcoming from the
school in the near future.
-Too Good For Drugs Information-
Details regarding the Grades 3 and 4 Too Good For Drugs Program information went home with the appropriate grade
level students at the end of October. The class lessons for each grade will begin in January and continue at various
dates through spring.

HOLIDAY SHOPPE
Thanks to those who helped cut tags and label bags last week! Our next work
night is Monday, November 5th in the Art Room. We will be making pouches! Contact Mary Christie,
255-8077, Marymom003@aol.com if you would like to volunteer but haven't signed up to help!
Holiday Shoppe work nights will be as follows:
Monday, November 5 in the art room from 6-8
Tuesday, November 27 in the art room from 6-8
Monday 12/3 from 5:30-10 (pricing and tagging all items
for sale)
Set up is Tuesday 12/4 from 3:30-? in the gym
Shoppe is open 12/5, 12/6, 12/7 during the
school day in the gym
Tear down is 12/7 from noon until finished
MUCH help is need in all of these areas! If you can help
at any of these times, please contact Mary Christie at

Clearances reminder: If you would like to volunteer at the K-1st lunch periods you need to have the act 34,act 51
and 6004 form. please contact Samme Gyure (sjgyure@yahoo.com) to volunteer. If you only would like to have
lunch with your individual child, the 6004 form is only needed. Thank You!
Good news! You can now register your
Giant Eagle advantage card online to earn
money and rewards for WHES. Instructions
have been emailed through the PTO Loop and
have been posted to the PTO Facebook page.

Family Movie Night
On Friday, September 28th, we held our 2nd Annual Family
Movie Night. More then 350 people attend this family
event. The PTO would like to the thank everyone that came and
the following individuals that helped make this event a success::

Janille Hensel, Kim Lavis, Carrie McAdams, Missy Pastorek,

WESTY WARM-UP
We are still collecting for the Westy Warm-Up! This year we will be donating to the Women's Help Ctr. and ACRP
Family Services. The PTO is accepting adult and children sizes for coats ,hats, gloves and blankets. There will be two
boxes located at the elementary school, one near the cafeteria and one by the conference room across from the office.
Thank you for any and all donations!!!!

SunnyD Book Spree
In six weeks we reached our goal of collecting
500 UPCs to get 500 new books for our classrooms.
Thanks to everyone that helped us
reach our goal. Please keep saving the UPCs
as we will have another collection in the spring
for next school year.
Hilltopper Discount Card
Congrats to Mrs. Lindberg, Miss Gilbert, Mrs. Klein, Mrs.
Petrunak, Miss Freidhoff and Miss Cover's classrooms for
selling the most discount cards within their grades. In Second
Grade, two classrooms tied for the top spot.
Discount Cards are still available in the office and make
great gifts this holiday season.
All Star Book Fair: Every Reader is a Star!
It's Game Time! All Star Book Fair will be in
the Library all next week. Join us for our
Open House on October 23 and enjoy themed
games, crafts and activities with your team of
family members! Remember, you can shop
